Default What Are 5 Symptoms of Anxiety You Shouldn’t Ignore?

Anxiety is something many of us experience, but it’s not always easy to recognize when it’s more than just everyday stress. Understanding the signs of anxiety can help you or someone you care about seek support sooner rather than later.

Some common signs and symptoms of anxiety disorder include:
  1. Constant worry or racing thoughts.
  2. Restlessness or feeling “on edge.”
  3. Trouble sleeping or staying asleep.
  4. Physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, sweating, or shortness of breath.
  5. Difficulty concentrating or feeling mentally “foggy.”
Of course, these are just a few examples—there are many other signs that you have anxiety, and they can look different from person to person.

I’ve noticed that when I get anxious, my sleep patterns are the first thing to be affected. Once I recognize it, I can use breathing exercises or take a break to reset.

What about you—have you experienced any of these symptoms? How do you usually cope with them? Do you think anxiety is often misunderstood or overlooked?

Let’s share our insights so we can all learn healthier ways to manage it.
