Default How to track long-term goals without losing focus

I’m good at making plans for the week, but when it comes to long-term goals I always lose motivation. I write them down somewhere and forget about them. Months later I realize I didn’t move closer at all. I’d like a better way to track progress over time.

I completely get that. I used to write down yearly goals in a notebook, but they would disappear into a drawer. Switching to CheckList changed that because it works as a Progress tracker. I created one main list called “2024 Goals” and broke it down into smaller tasks. For example, instead of just writing “learn Spanish,” I added specific steps: finish an online course, practice 10 minutes a day, complete one book in Spanish. Each time I tick something off, I can see how far I’ve come, and that visual progress keeps me motivated. I also did the same with fitness – I logged each week’s runs and workouts. Looking back, seeing a chain of completed tasks gave me proof I was moving forward. The extension keeps everything accessible, synced, and backed up, so I never lose sight of the bigger picture. This Progress tracker kept me consistent in a way paper never could.

That’s motivating to hear. I think breaking long goals into steps is what I was missing. If CheckList can show progress clearly, it might help me stay on track for once.
