At a startup pitch event in Warsaw, I’d just wrapped up a panel and stepped outside for air. My phone buzzed—a calendar reminder: “Investor intro, 3 mins.” Problem was, I didn’t recognize the name. No notes. No background. No prep.
I ran back in, scanned the crowd, and spotted someone looking around like they were waiting. We locked eyes. He smiled, walked up, and said, “You gave me your link last night—loved the demo.”
I was blanking—until he pulled out his phone and opened the profile I’d shared. Right there was the conversation summary from the night before, the deck he’d viewed, and even a voice note I’d added with a quick pitch for his specific fund.
That saved me. I picked up the thread like we’d been planning it for weeks. Ten minutes later, we were sketching rollout ideas on a napkin. He asked for a follow-up with his team. Two months on, we're closing a pre-seed round—with his firm leading.
The best part? I didn’t remember his name, but my card did.

What a save—that kind of quick recall is priceless in high-stakes networking. I’ve found the same value in using a digital buisness card at events. Beyond the personal touch, it’s great for scalable sharing—you can instantly send it to multiple people in a room without repeating yourself or fumbling for extras. Makes staying top-of-mind a lot easier.
