Default Online Reaction Time Game Question

Hey everyone,

I've been playing online reaction time games to improve my reflexes for sports (boxing/Muay Thai) and gaming. One question keeps bugging me: how accurate are these games in measuring true reaction time? I’ve heard screen refresh rates, input lag, and even mouse settings can affect the results.

Are there any tools or methods to minimize these issues or get more reliable results? Also, does reaction time from these games translate well to real-life scenarios, or is it more about quick clicks than practical reflexes?

Would love to hear your thoughts or tips!

Thanks in advance!

Hey!

Online reaction time games can give you a general idea of your reflexes, but they aren’t 100% accurate due to factors like screen refresh rates, input lag, and mouse/keyboard delay. A monitor with a high refresh rate (144Hz or more) and a low-latency mouse can improve the accuracy of your results.

That said, an Online Reaction Time Game focuses on visual reflexes and hand-eye coordination, which may not directly translate to real-life sports like boxing or Muay Thai. Reaction in combat sports relies on processing patterns, timing, and predicting movement—things these games don’t train.

If you're serious about improving reflexes for sports, consider drills like partner pad work, reaction lights (e.g., BlazePod), or shadowboxing with visual/audio cues. These methods bridge the gap between speed and practical application.

I don’t understand any of those specs and settings. I just want the game to run smoothly. That’s all that matters.

Yeah, that’s what everyone wants. A game that just runs well and doesn’t freeze. But even if your computer isn’t super powerful, games that will definitely work are browser games like https://playhop.com/tag/dinosaurs_93. There’s a bunch of categories and themes there, not just dinosaur games. I like puzzles, for example. It’s a good way to give your brain a little workout.
