Hi all, I’m seriously considering adopting a Boxer puppy and could use some advice. What’s their temperament like? I’ve heard they can be stubborn—does that make them hard to train? Also, how do they handle being around kids? Lastly, are there any common health problems I should prepare for as a potential owner?

Boxers are fantastic dogs, but they do have unique needs! They’re super affectionate and protective, making them great family pets. Training can be a bit tricky because they’re independent thinkers, but with patience and consistency, they learn well. Regarding health, keep an eye out for conditions like allergies, heart issues, or joint problems. If you want a detailed guide, check out this Boxer puppies https://wearepuppies.com/puppies/boxer-puppies. It’s full of practical tips on training, health care, and what to expect from this lovable breed. I used it when I got my Boxer, and it was a game changer.

Boxers sound like such incredible dogs! I’m actually in the early stages of considering getting one myself, so this thread is really helpful. I had no idea they could have heart issues, so that’s definitely something to watch out for. Thanks for sharing that link—it sounds like a goldmine of info!
