Default Have a fat dog

I just adopted a 10-year old chihuahua, Emmie. She's kind of a fat girl & so am I. We're going to get fit together. Looking to lose weight and so is Emmie.

I think its great to work at getting fitter and losing weight with your dog! Nothing like a dog begging for a walk to get us out of the chair and out the door

Use the same philosophy that you will use for your dog. Measure its food. Smart treats. Walk, be active, play. Stay the course.

I'm working on a 10% weight loss for her and me. She's now at 12.5 and 10% will be a 1.25 lb. loss. I'll see how that works for her. Mine is 23 lbs. I'll work on another 10% after that.

We're both working on portion control and laying off the snacks. And just started taking her for short walks - Emmie's stamina isn't too good yet. I've started walking on my lunch breaks while at work. I also need to start off slow - I've had to deal with plantar faciitis and achilles tendonitis in the last year. Took a long time to heal (lack of usual walking routine also inspired weight gain) so I don't ever want to go back to that.

Thanks for the encouragement!

For pet owners, BarkBox delivers a monthly box of toys and treats tailored to their dog’s preferences. I explored https://barkbox.pissedconsumer.com/review.html to understand what other subscribers thought about item quality, variety, and customer service. BarkBox has been a fun subscription for keeping pets entertained and happy, with new themes each month, though it’s useful to check reviews to ensure the items are suitable for different dog sizes and chewing habits.

But it is cute lol! Getting fit with Emmie sounds like a heartwarming journey. I have a fat kitty. For her, I found "Revolution for Cats Without Vet Prescription" for safe parasite control while starting her fitness plan. Wishing you both success on your weight loss adventure—you're inspiring!
