I recently upgraded some components in my PC, and now Windows is asking for activation. I understand that this is probably due to a hardware change, but it is not entirely clear how to fix it. Any ideas on how to quickly and easily activate the system after the upgrade?

I've had a similar issue when I upgraded my graphics card. It seems like Windows ties the activation to your hardware. You might need to use the 'Activation Troubleshooter' in the settings. It helped me reactivate my copy without much hassle.

Updating your hardware can definitely cause you to need to reactivate, as Windows activation is often tied to the hardware configuration of your device. This is where understanding what is windows activation is becomes critical. After all, after a major hardware change, Windows may think that your copy is being used on a new device.
