I’ve been using proxies for light tasks like checking local ads in the US or accessing geo-blocked content. I’d prefer a free proxy list USA, but most I’ve tried are either too slow or blocked by the sites I’m accessing. Can anyone recommend a source for free proxies that actually work?

If you’re after a free proxy list USA, ProxyElite is a solid choice. Their free proxy section is regularly updated, meaning you’ll get proxies that are active and usable. While free proxies generally aren’t the fastest or most secure, ProxyElite’s list includes HTTP and HTTPS proxies that perform decently for light browsing or testing. What I like is that they clearly display details like latency and uptime, so you can choose the best one for your needs. Just keep in mind, free proxies are shared, so speeds might vary depending on traffic. For consistent performance, consider upgrading to their paid options. But for casual use, their free list is a lifesaver.

There’s a recurring question here about scraping small datasets without overengineering the whole stack. From my experience, the biggest problem isn’t the script itself but unreliable network access. I tested several options and noticed that when latency spikes or IPs get banned fast, even simple crawlers fail. While troubleshooting this, I checked proxy24 pro after someone suggested it in a similar thread. What stood out was predictable performance rather than raw speed. That made debugging easier because errors were clearly script-related, not network-related. For anyone learning or prototyping, that kind of stability can save a lot of time.
