A photo of when you were at your best weight-in plain sight or even a computer wallpaper. An outfit that you looked great in and felt wonderful in-hanging in your closet front and center. A screenshot of your *successful to date* weight loss chart from Fitday...checking message boards like this when you think you cannot skip that cheesecake! The worst thing is having a family with healthy skinny teenagers and hubby and not forcing them to be on your diet and exercise program. My best motivation is them, I tell them I can't have that pizza and they make sure that they don't leave it around! = )

Hi Ladies! I just joined fitday today. For the last 3 months I have been a member of the Biggest Loser club but when it came time to renew I wasn't willing to pay the $60 again. I started there with 60 pounds to lose, and I lost 17. So my ultimate weight loss goal is to lose another 43 pounds but my mini goal for right now is to lose 30 pounds by May 1st.

I am 31 years old, will be 32 on the 20th of this month. I am a SAHM looking to go back to school soon. My children are 6, 4 and 14 months. I need to get my eating under control because I have such a sweet tooth! I have cut out pepsi, I used to drink 4 cans a day (not diet) and I now have 1 maybe once a week. I plan on keeping my exercise at the level I have it now or better. Currently I do about 5 hours of exercise a week.

I definetly want to buddy up with who ever wants to! One of the great tools I learned from BLC was challenges. So if anyone is interested in those just let me know and we can figure something out for those.

2010!!

Hi All-
Also just wanted to say hey and that I'm looking to lose 50 by Dec. 2010. Seems pretty reasonable right? Hope to keep posting on Fitday too.

Cheers!

:D

Oh and some stats: I'm also 35 going on 36 in May. I've tried multiple weight loss programs- WW, South Beach, Atkins, 'French women don't diet' you name it- and lost and then gained more. So I'm ready to just try again, this time with a more steady approach. I've also got Hashimoto disease (hypothyroid) which makes losing weight harder BUT I figure I have to try right? So far, I've cut out most dairy already (I've been lactose intolerant) , and coffee (only 1/week), and trying to eat less meat. So my tip is also the same- take it one thing at a time and try it for a week- see how you feel, and then move on to the next little hill.
That's a challenge right?

Hi Xannadu! Where did everyone go? I tried Zumba the other night and had so much fun! Has anyone else ever done it? I plan on going back every Tue and Thur night now. How is everyone else doing on eating and exercise? My eating is terrible but I plan on getting back on track with that starting tomorrow. I hope to hear from people so we can get acquainted and help keep each other on track.

I really like the atmosphere this website has. I have a hard time sticking with diets and work outs and I hope that this is just the kick in the butt that I've needed.

I guess it's my turn for details. I'm 18 and I have 40 pounds to loose.

Hey there!
I'm new to this site also. I'm in my early 20s, and I'm hoping to lose 60 pounds by my wedding anniversary in mid June. I'm a carb maniac and also have a horrible habit of eating when I'm bored, rather than hungry. Especially at night. =(
I also have a pretty tight budget. Does anyone have any ideas for cheap meals and snacks??

Hi Hannah and Renaelisa, welcome! I hope you keep blogging and we can give each other support. I too have tried several diets and never stuck with it. I like this website because it isnt a diet.
Suggestions for cheap healthy food

oatmeal for breakfast - only 160 cal and you get 10 pks for about $2.50 (sometimes less, i shop sales or walmart no name brand)

baked potato- only 110 cal and a lot of times you can get a 10lb bag for .99 when on sale

chicken breasts- i buy frozen 3lb bag for about $7 at walmart

salads are fairly cheap if you make your own, buy a head of lettuce for under $1 and you can make probably 4 salads out of it if you are making them for just one.

I need to jump back on the exercise bandwagon tonight after my kids go to bed. What is everyone else doing for exercise?

Dani
