Linda, 1/2 lb is excellent! Worlds better than a gain, like me. It might not be what you're hoping for. Just make sure you are eating enough and not putting your body into starvation mode. Sometimes, as weird as it may be, people find they lose more weight when they increase their calories a bit. If I don't eat enough, I don't lose. Just a thought I had when you said you are going to restrict your portions more.

Debbie, what is DietBet? How do they verify you lost the weight? Is it an in-person group, or is it online? 4 lbs gain is definitely water weight. So glad you're not letting it get you down.

Libby, woot! woot! have fun shopping!!!

I'm down on myself. I'm up 1 lb from Monday of last week. I'm really kind of devastated. To meet my goal I've needed to lose 2 lbs/week every week, and I missed that goal this week by a lot. I'm really hoping that I can get rid of that plus more for next week. I'm not giving up though!!!! I've got to do it this time.

It's a website dietbet.com You join a game...the cost is usually around $25 - $30. You take a full length photo of yourself, and a picture of a scale with a 'code' word that they send to you. You submit this and their team verifies it. At the end of the game, you send a new full length photo of yourself, and a gain a picture of a scale with a 'code' word. The games last either 1 month (where you are challenged to lose 4% of your body weight) or 6 months (where you are challenged to lose 10% of your body weight). At the end of the game, if you hit your goal, you're a winner. All the winners in the game split the pot. So worse case scenario is everyone hits their weight and you get back what you invested. You can then cash out or roll the money back into another bet. Just trying to find a way to up my motivation level!

Sorry to hear you're feeling down about your weigh in this week. I too will have to lose close to 2 lbs. each week to hit my goal here. It's unlikely, but just like you, I'm not giving up! Who knows, maybe we'll surprise ourselves!!!?!?

I must be in between sizes. What I am wearing is too big but what is in my closet is too small. Several times I have nearly lost my pants but I was at home, lucky for me.
I am watching Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet being sworn in.
It's a great day for Canada.

My gawd I can store some serious water!! You'd think I'm part camel!!?! I'm down 5.6 lbs. from my Monday weight. I'm sure I'll end up retaining water over the weekend like I normally do, but hope to see the downward trend continue.
