Default Renting a car in Moscow as a foreigner

Hey everyone, planning a trip to Moscow for a couple of weeks and want to rent a car to explore the city and maybe drive to Suzdal. I've never rented in Russia before. Any advice on what to expect? Are the roads around Moscow okay for someone not used to local driving? Also wondering about insurance and deposits. Would appreciate any tips from people who've done this.

Driving in Moscow can be intense for first-timers, lots of lanes and aggressive merging. The roads themselves are actually decent, especially the highways out to Suzdal. For insurance, make sure you get full coverage (CDW) to avoid surprises. You can check options to rent car in Moscow through this platform https://getrentacar.com/en-US/russia/moscow . Just avoid driving in the very center during peak hours unless you're feeling brave.

Always take photos of the car before driving off. Moscow rentals can be strict about pre-existing damage. Also, check if your rental includes winter tires if you're going in colder months.
