The simplest and most effective practice when it comes to your kidneys is to simply drink the right stuff.
A couple of years ago, I got my big break. I had low energy, and even drinking water was a chore. That’s when I became more conscious of what I was drinking and how it impacted my body – my kidneys in particular.
What I learned:
Your kidneys serve you day and night – take care of them. It’s the decisions we make – even about what we drink – that can transform our long-term well-being.

What I learned:
- Water is your best friend, the best water for kidney function is water. It clears away toxins, maintains proper kidney function, and prevents kidney stones. I started to bring my water bottle everywhere and in a few weeks, my energy level had improved considerably.
- Herbal teas – dandelion tea and nettle tea are rich in antioxidants which cleanse your kidneys naturally. I’ve replaced sugary drinks with these teas, and the results have been fantastic. They don’t just hydrate you, but they can reduce inflammation and improve your kidney function.
- Cranberry juice – only natural. We’ve all heard of cranberry juice to support your bladder, but also for your kidneys. Just ensure it’s the unadulterated kind. It avoids infections if you are susceptible to UTIs, which overload the kidneys.
- Lemon water I love drinking warm lemon water in the morning. You know, an easy lifestyle that can prevent kidney stones. Lemons contain citric acid, which raises the volume of the urine – more kidney excretion!
