A safe and healthy weight gain is up to 1kg per week. Weight gain is dependant on your caloric expenditure. More calories consumed than calories burned will result in weight gain, and more calories burned than calories consumed will result in weight loss. Of course, exercising (resistance training) will help increase muscle mass, which then increases your total body weight as well.
