how to avoid fast food?

when you start gym and dieting, you need to left you favourite food which maybe fast food or something else? So, what is the best way to avoid this.

Kathy13118 01-10-2020 05:28 AM

Try cooking that favorite food yourself at home. You can tweak parts of the recipe - and you can control portion size better. Google 'copycat fast food recipes,' for example, and you will find plenty of recipes for making some of your favorite fast foods at home.

it's easy to avoid fast food if you like cooking. I love to try new recipes and cook a lot. I've already bought garbage disposal to get rid of wastes faster. I found reviews here before purchasing. So convy.

josaflenya 02-27-2020 04:41 AM

I think it's impossible to avoid fast food by myself.

When you feel urge to eat fast food while going gym, then you must be focused on making delicious health food and trying different recipes. This will help you in staying away from fast foods and will keep you focused on the foods which are good for your health and fitness.

Arease 05-22-2020 10:28 PM

I think it's normal to eat fast food one time per week

Kohsamui 05-23-2020 01:44 AM

Hi, Arease. Here’s my suggestion: track your foods right here on FitDay (maybe you already are...). See what you’re getting from your food. If your diet, calorie count, nutrition scores are where you want them, have a Big Mac whenever. But be aware that a fast food meal can have so much bad stuff in one serving that it whacks your day’s and even your week’s averages (salt and saturated fats, for example). You’re here on FitDay, so you care. Check it out and then make your call...

Learning to prepare your own food will make you more intentional about you eat. That really helped me when it comes to avoiding fast food. You can schedule "cheat days" when you'll indulge yourself, but also plan just how much of it you'll eat. Stick to it and eventually you'll lose your craving for it.

laikagroom 07-10-2020 09:04 AM

Don't limit your calorie intake to a too-small amount. Eat tastily, so you won't crave for fast food.

Ewrew2 07-26-2020 09:34 PM

I have made a huge change around my home. Now there is a lot of flowering plants , vegetables and fruits. The best part of this is that i woke up everyday with the enormous bird chirpings. You can understand how excited i will be , where there are a lot of birds, parrots, sparrows, butterflies and more around me.

CharlesSharp 08-12-2020 12:06 AM

I agree. Don't buy fast food to not have it at home. If you have at home some fruits, veg or other healthy options you have better chances to avoid fast food.

Harold0908 08-27-2020 12:01 AM

Eating healthy food is a good way to leave that fast foods, you can do this by making a plan of your favorite healthy foods.

Marik44 09-28-2020 07:03 PM

really very interesting! thank you

Simonof 01-19-2021 12:04 PM

The best way I found to avoid fast food is looking what is in it and how many calories I'll be consuming.

If you make it a point to not eat fast food for a while, and then go and it eat, you won't enjoy it. Some fast food actually makes me physically sick, and these were places I ate at all the time.

HudsonJJJ 01-28-2021 07:28 PM

You can replace favourite unhealthy sauses to the more healthy ones. You can also cook at home: meet, vegetables, fruits. Homemade food can be really delicious and healthy.

Devansh21 07-05-2021 11:11 PM

Yeah,,,,its right

To avoid fast food, here are some tips:
  1. Plan and prepare meals: Make a weekly meal plan and cook your meals in advance. This way, you'll have healthy options readily available, reducing the temptation to grab fast food.
  2. Pack your lunch: Bring a nutritious lunch to work or school. Include lean proteins, whole grains, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
  3. Choose healthier alternatives: If you do eat out, opt for restaurants that offer healthier choices. Look for grilled or baked options instead of fried foods, and choose salads, soups, or wraps with lean protein.
  4. Snack smart: Keep healthy snacks like fruits, nuts, or yogurt on hand to curb cravings and prevent reaching for fast food.
  5. Drink water: Stay hydrated with water throughout the day. Sometimes, thirst can be mistaken for hunger, leading to impulsive fast food choices.
  6. Eat mindfully: Slow down and savor your meals. Pay attention to hunger and fullness cues, which can help you make healthier food choices.
  7. Find alternative rewards: If you usually turn to fast food as a reward or for comfort, seek alternative ways to treat yourself. Engage in hobbies, spend time with loved ones, or enjoy a favorite non-food activity.
Remember, making gradual changes to your eating habits is key. Be patient with yourself and celebrate small victories along the way.

I love fast food. Unfortunately, I can't completely refuse it. I just try to minimize this food.

Irngix 07-31-2023 01:26 AM

If you're aiming to lose weight and steer clear of fast food temptations, I'd suggest a couple of tips. Firstly, plan your meals ahead, so you're less likely to reach for fast food when hungry. Secondly, incorporate healthy and satisfying alternatives into your diet. Also, consider discussing the prescription weight loss medication Xenical (find more about it at Canadian Pharmacy) with your doctor for added support.

Totally agree but I can't stop eating fast food and snacks. Recently I found universal yums reviews and ordered a lot of sweets. I tried to replace them with healthier food but it's difficult for me.

Gbet 09-01-2023 11:00 PM

Just don't eat fast!

Miasm1 09-02-2023 12:01 AM

Made healthy food like a fast food . i mean you can make tasty healthy food.

Rick.Foster 09-12-2023 06:15 PM

Just ignore the food.

robinyutah 09-18-2023 08:24 PM

I know avoiding fast food is difficult especially when you have kind of habit eating fast food after every 1 day. But you have to do this

robinyutah 09-18-2023 08:26 PM

One more thing, never ever go behind the friend if they are keen to eat fast food. Because environment puts a lot of motivation or demotivation. So, make your environment accordingly.

how to avoid fast food?

Read food labels and steer clear of those that have extra sugar, too much sodium, or too much fat. Make healthy snacks and meals in advance at home using whole, fresh foods.

Gorgeous Hair 09-29-2023 06:26 PM

Starting a fitness journey doesn't mean giving up your favorite foods entirely. Moderation is key—enjoy them occasionally. Plan indulgence days to avoid overeating impulsively and watch portion sizes. Seek healthier versions or make homemade alternatives, gradually reducing your indulgence frequency. Experiment with substitutes mimicking your favorites, and keep healthy snacks around. Stay hydrated to control cravings, practice mindful eating, and consider sharing your goals with a support system. Reward yourself for milestones, but ensure these rewards align with your fitness goals, maintaining a balanced approach.

Meal plans

Meal plans are great for this, plan your week and make sure you either have something you can take with you or easy to cook meals ready in the fridge

Heeey, oh such a difficult question, but i trying to do my best!
I try to prepare a weekly meal plan including nutritious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also try to cook at home and i try to find alternatives, discover healthier dining options such as salad bars, delis, or restaurants offering fresh and wholesome meals.
Take care!

mia_davis 03-24-2024 09:44 PM

I think if you cook delicious meals at home, it will be enough. Then you can easily live without fast food. Although, for example, I don't always have time to cook at home and can often order food from somewhere or eat in restaurants. In fact, you also need to understand that you shouldn't eat all the food from restaurants, because you can gain weight that way. For such a situation, I read additional information to know what exactly will not harm me, so here https://betterme.world/articles/chinese-food-calories/, it is explained in an accessible way what you should eat to feel good

danicatrainestapp 05-10-2024 04:30 AM

Hey friend!
Starting at the gym and trying to eat better can feel like a big change, especially when it means saying goodbye to your favorite fast foods. But don't worry – it's all about finding a balance that works for you!Instead of giving up your faves completely, try enjoying them in smaller portions or less often. And hey, planning ahead with healthier options can make it easier to resist those tempting cravings.Just remember, it's okay to treat yourself every now and then. Being healthy is all about progress, not perfection!

Indeed, now artificial intelligence is being strongly introduced into our lives, I noticed that with the help of artificial intelligence students began to complete their student work, I would recommend that after finishing their work they check for plagiarism using API Plagiarism Checker plagiarismcheck org since there are cases of generation of non-unique content

Great tips in this thread! One thing that really helped me personally was addressing why I was reaching for fast food in the first place — for me it was usually convenience when I was tired, not even actual cravings. Once I started batch-cooking on Sundays (just a big pot of rice, some roasted veg, and a protein), I had grab-and-go options at home that felt just as effortless. A few others here mentioned the "copycat recipes" approach, and I'd second that — it actually makes the transition fun rather than restrictive.

Also agree with the point about not cutting calories too aggressively. When I tried to eat too little, fast food cravings became unbearable. Eating enough real food killed them almost entirely. If you're tracking macros, sites like Cronometer or the FitDay tracker here can make it really obvious when you're under-eating, which is usually the hidden trigger.

The social environment point is underrated too — if your friends always suggest fast food meetups, suggesting alternatives (a new café, cooking together) is way easier than saying no every time.
