iPhone application

Is anyone aware of a Fitday iPhone application or any plans to create one?

It would be so much easier to record on the go if this were available.

fitday_jim 02-02-2010 05:44 AM

Thanks for doing our market research for us ;) We are actually working on some new mobile ideas including an iPhone app, so we will keep you updated.

iPhone app

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to this, as I've been using Fitday for years and don't want to switch.:D

staceyalberta 02-11-2010 03:16 AM

I don't have an iphone myself, but my bf does & he would probably use it. as i know he'd like to lose some weight & i strongly beleive in journaling your food.

Junogle 02-14-2010 06:22 AM

I have an iPod touch, and a FitDay app would be great. I'd love it if it would let you share some of your info (like reaching a goal, your daily workout, etc.) through Twitter or Facebook somehow.

MSO9922 02-16-2010 12:06 PM

iPhone app

I've been exploring the various apps available for the iPhone. As much as I would like to be keeping track on the iPhone, none of the apps available match the functionality of FitDay and FitDay PC. I would love to see a FitDay app. Based on what I've seen out there, I would expect you could pass the others easily.

chetfreeman 02-18-2010 01:24 AM

Are you working on an app for Android or Windows Mobile? Will it include a bar code scanner input method?

nlaurie 02-18-2010 10:57 PM

Please put your announcement of the new app on your log in page so we can get the word right away! This would be a great addition to your suit of tools.

Wouldn't it be better to get a Mac version out first - that's what people have been asking for, for years?

stevendamore 03-16-2010 04:24 AM

i think this is a great idea, although since im an android user i would love to see an android app as well as the iphone app.

Ivor.Biggun 04-11-2010 06:42 PM

A fit day Iphone App would be most excellent - I have tried some similar type apps but none hit the spot like a Fitday iphone app could .

Would you be interested in beta testers for the ipod? Count me in.

beth4365 04-14-2010 11:19 AM

I'd love it! Please, Fitday!

IDRISCKY 04-14-2010 12:57 PM

I'd like a FitDay app for iPhone also.

I would also be willing to beta test.

I have tried many many many different nutrition tracker apps for the iPhone, it has been sort of a mini-obsession since I got it. My biggest problem has been finding one that tracks all the vitamins and minerals. The one's that work best have been the ones in which I can edit my journal online and on the phone. Fitday has been the best online fitness journal that I have used, so an iPhone app to go along with my online stuff would be perfect!

MeDave 04-21-2010 06:10 AM

i too really can not be any more in need af a fitday iphone app. i've used fitday off and on since 2003 and the 'off' periods always have to do with the difficulty of being tied to a computer for it. i prefer fitday over EVERY other tracker out there but in all honesty have moved over to another one simply because having an iphone app that allows tracking on the go and therefore consistant logging, outweighs all the preferences and benefit i get from using fitday.

PLEASE rush on getting an app out there.

jml2010 04-21-2010 06:27 PM

I can't wait for this! It would make food logging so much easier - please please please!!!

kacouch 04-24-2010 05:17 AM

I would love a fit day app for my iPad. But I agree with a Mac version also.

clarsen7 04-28-2010 03:11 AM

fitday_jim,

You might consider opening up the fitday site via a web service API so that third parties can develop applications for it.

There will always be more feature and application requests to satisfy than developers.

I just want to throw in my 2 cents. I would also love to see a Fit day App. I cannot wait. I have had my Iphone for going on 2 weeks and I finally understand the hype.

krooney21 05-05-2010 02:48 AM

To be quite frank, FitDay is really late to the iPhone party. I've been a FitDay user for 5+ years and hoped there would be an iPhone app long before now.

I've been using the iPhone app called LoseIt. It does not have near the functionality of FitDay, but it works well, they are updating it, and I can record my food and workouts with it.

Unfortunately, I've almost completely stopped using FitDay because I'm not going to record the same information in two different place.

I'll bet I'm not alone.

rexler 05-16-2010 02:11 AM

Iphone app -- please!

I love Fitday and have used it off/on for 3 years. i cannot access it from my work pc (company filters) so, i have to write everything down and try to remember to log my food in the evenings. this is frustrating and it doesnt always get done. i have looked for other food journals on my iphone, but i have so many custom foods entered into Fitday, i really dont want to re-create all of that in another site. eventually, i will have no choice.

Fitday, the app is a huge business opportunity for you. Dont miss the boat. :)

Adam786 05-26-2010 12:55 PM

Any progress reports with regards to this app? If it's a work in progress and funding is needed. I will happily donate some money. I'm sure others will too with the demand for this app.

dana_j_scully 06-12-2010 07:33 AM

I hope that fitday comes out w/ a iPod app before I become emmeshed in a similiar tool found in the app store. Otherwise I may not return to fitday.

Hi Jim. Four months on, how has your planning gone? Are you guys in a design phase yet. Looking forward to being able to record food intake on the go, and sync back to Fitday.

alice6065 06-13-2010 06:00 AM

I hope this iPhone app will be available to all FitDay users, not just PC.

m330 06-21-2010 07:10 AM

As a former Palm, current iPhone, and soon-to-be Android user, I'd probably prefer to see a cross-platform, highly-functional mobile website (unless mobile apps are to be released on multiple platforms.

It's unfortunate that a concept so perfectly suited for mobile use appears to be so far behind the curve. I hope that going forward development isn't focused isn't solely on the iPhone, but the large base of Blackberry users and the burgeoning Android community as well.

As a new user, I really like what I see on the main site overall, though--keep up the great work!

jlachape 06-22-2010 01:52 PM

New to android platform, but am loving it. I can pull up the regular fitday on the web using my phone, but an app would be soooo much easier.

kathyhix 06-25-2010 06:31 AM

Mobile interface?

I am an Android user, too, and won't be able to use an iPhone app, but if Fitday added an interface for Android, so that I could use Fitday when I am at my desk, and then access the same information, logs, reports, etc., from my G1 when I am out, I would pay $$$$$$$$$$ It would be worth a lot more to me than the FitdayPC version that is currently being offered.

magicmorpheus 06-27-2010 10:32 PM

I agree. I have no use for FitDay PC but I would be very, very interested in a iPhone app. Especially one where you can record offline and then sychronise with the web version when you are online. I would definitely be willing to pay money for that. FitDay is the leanest and most user-friendly service of its kind, but I think that I will be switching over to one of your competitors if a mobile application is not a perspective. Would be a shame though.

dmac686 06-30-2010 03:34 AM

please make a fit day iphone app????????????????

rawnoyz 07-14-2010 05:15 AM

I need a fitday app in my life.;)

markdbeyer 07-15-2010 07:52 AM

Even a mobile-aware web site would be an improvement.

jdwright58 07-17-2010 03:26 PM

I vote for mobile aware web site and an android app. Someone else mentioned opening up your APIs and letting other folks do the development.

SkinnyP 07-22-2010 02:21 PM

Please do an iphone app!!! I have yet to find an app in the entire app catalog that will take my weight goal (more than 2 lbs per week) + ending goal date and calculate how much I need to lose per week to achieve this goal. It seems like such a basic thing but no one provides this tracking calculation.

In addition to having all the great features that the fitday site provides, this app would be amazing. I would be willing to pay a premium for it. Please fitday, make it happen!

mrrrrcat 07-24-2010 02:21 AM

You guys are definitely missing the boat if you are not working on mobile apps. You're leaving money on the table and you're driving people to other competitors since they have apps and you don't. I voted I'd love an iphone app but that is not entirely correct as I don't have an iphone (I have a Pre Plus). A cross platform app would be great since other phones besides iphone are in the mix. I would pay for a mobile app for on to go access to my customized food entries even though I use the free online version of fitday. Using this website on a mobile phone is tediously clunky at best, so unfortunately I did in fact pay for someone else's app since there is not one for fitday. Please get with the times and invest in mobile apps. It would definitely be worth it.

richvolfan 07-29-2010 02:27 AM

Need a Iphone app

Come on, someone make a Fitday app for the iphone!!!!!

I have been a user of FitDay for quite awhile, and I can tell you that a mobile app for smart phones would be a GODSEND!!!!

Adam786 08-06-2010 11:17 AM

A shame there isn't some sort of update or just a direct answer if we should continue to wait

mzstre 08-10-2010 07:43 AM

Hoping for iPhone app SOON!

I check the app store about once per week to see if fitday has an app yet. It is very difficult to log meals on the go through your website from a phone, so I have been trying apps from your competitors. It is quite frustrating because I have SO many custom foods on fitday. I will eventually enter everything and totally switch to another program if no update or status can be given regarding an app release. I prefer fitday's interface by leaps and bounds. Please release an app SOON!!!
