Hello everybody!
Glad to see there are other doing P90X, just starting my second round. Finished my 1st of P90X \ Insanity back at the beginning of Sept. Then I did some other workouts to get ready for an Eskrima tournament and now ready to get going again!

Can you manually add the P90X workout to your activities tracker?

Little update on my second round of P90x. I'm about halfway through week 3 and feeling really great. I get some muscle soreness, but nothing too bad. Every now and then, during the day, I feel exhausted, but in a good way (if such a thing exists!). But during my workouts, I always feel good and afterward feel just incredible. I'm loving the classic combination (did lean last time). I can really feel my back getting stronger, or I assume it is since my pullups are improving by leaps and bounds each week. No new measurements yet (waiting to finish phase 1), but I just feel incredible and it's a great feeling. Hope everyone else is having such great results!

As for Rob's question about the activities, I don't have a heartrate monitor to be able to more accurately track my calories burned, so I don't bother making custom activities. I'm not even sure if that's an option in the free version...?

I have been doing P90X for some weeks now. I think it is the best home exercise program I have seen. I'm just wondering one thing. How much modification are you other people doing?

I mean, I'm quite fit, but I still struggle to follow the pace and form of the people showing the exercises. Do you do all the pull-ups, all the push-ups etc. in strict form? Have you adapted your own version of some of the exercises?

Physio, all I can say is go to your max. My pull ups are no where near the videos (I'm doing them with a chair support still and a lot of them I'm just doing negatives because I can't pull myself up and just lowering myself down is a great strength builder). As for pushups, I'm doing between 20 and 30, depending on which exercise it is. I'd recommend taking those mini breaks Tony talks about, and trying to crank out another 1 or 2 reps. Sometimes it's just a mental block? I grunt and groan, even with my boyfriend sitting on the couch watching me, but I keep pushing.

As for anything along the lines of weight lifting, I tend to stick with the higher reps. That being said, if I notice I have to keep adding an extra rep or two or three in order to reach that 'failure' stage, then I up my weight a little.

Little note about the ab ripper, I'd suggest taking a break for a couple of reps if you can't do them all. Then jump back in and finish up strong. Eventually you can do the whole routine, then gradually work on doing the moves better (straighter legs, etc).

I think Tony is a great coach is telling you to do your best, take breaks, and don't sweat it. If you don't have the worksheets, I'd jump on beachbody, com and get them. I've done the routines before without keeping track and know that I push myself a lot more when I can see how many reps I was doing before, or how heavy my weight was. I consistently try to add an extra rep or two each time I do the exercise (for example, if I'm doing 20 pushups in week one, I push myself to do a couple more in week two, likewise for week three).

Otherwise best of luck to you. Hope that answers your question. I'm almost done with week 4 of my second round and am loving it. Still not sheding any real weight and I'm waiting till I finish this week to take measurements, but regardless, my body looks great. I went to the mall today to try on clothes, not to buy, but just see how things look on me. I'd been losing so much weight that I kept needing new clothes and now things are kind of tight financially so I've just been wearing my same old baggy stuff. It was good to see how form-fitting clothes looked for a change! If you're already pretty fit, just take notice of the definition you'll start to see in your body!

To put my P90X workouts in the activities tracker I usually just choose the closest activity i.e. judo/jujitsu for Kenpo or circuit training for chest & back and then change the hours to match up with calorie burn from my pulse monitor watch.

Default Anyone doing the Insanity workouts?

I sampled the Fit Test today and just that kicked my butt... Was a P90X nut until I badly pulled a hamstring last spring. Have been doing some walking, running, swimming, etc. for rehab, But not enough that I didn't slide back out of shape and put on 12 lbs. Am feeling 100% again and am going to start the Insanity workouts Monday. They are a good option for me as I am always travelling and don't always have the equipment I need for P90X. Any suggestions on how to keep from killing yourself in the first week? Figure if I can make it through that, I will be okay...

The best thing for my sore muscles is lots of sleep and stretching. You could even take extra days off if you really need to. For instance, you have workouts to do every day, but say you only do them every other day. It would take you two weeks to do a week's worth of workouts, but it might keep you from getting too sore and quitting.

One other thing to note: that muscle soreness is just a sign that your nerves have been fighting to repair tissue and when you start to feel sore, it just means those nerves are tired of working so hard! That's not a bad thing though. Ironically, some of the best medicine for sore muscles are similar exercises to what made you sore in the first place.

Just keep pushing play, get through a week or two and you'll feel so great you won't want to stop. I have days when I just don't feel like working out and I know if I just put the dvd in and start, all the stress and negativity fades away and I finish feeling just amazing.

Smile P90x

Well, Im tired of being an overwight 31 year old. I have had two kids and really never lost the baby weight. My goal is to lose 20 lbs and I have made my mind up to do P90X. It is in the mail and I will hopefully get it one day this week. Anyone tried it and had results? I have heard it is very hard but I have made my mind up to really try to do this!

I haven't used the program but I have it. It's far too advanced for me. I can't even get through the warm up. If you are really out of shape you won't be able to keep up. P90X is for people that are already in very good shape and want to take it to the extreme.

I decided to lose weight and get into better shape. I'm doing it (and having good success) by dieting and walking. I've lost over 30 lbs. and I'm now starting to run. I'm currently doing the Couch25K program. It's workout routine that takes people from the couch to being able to run 5 kilometers in just 9 weeks. After that I'm doing to Bridge210K program along with weight training to gain muscle mass. After that I will look at giving the P90X a try.

Good luck!
