I think that is not a healthy habit. You cannot easily lose or stop your regular diet by changing it with this particular diet. Though there are no studies about this, but I think the better move is to slowly lessen your regular diet and change it gradually with this.

Following things can be helpful in weight losing:

1) Avoid junk food
2) Don't eat food with high calories
3) don't drink alcohol
4) Always take light dinner
5) Daily exercise
6) Drink as much as water you can
7) Drink Lemon and Green tea
8) Eat green vegetable

This process will take time, but if you want to reduce weight quickly then you should go for Natural Supplement.

1. Get Stronger. Strength training increases cardiovascular fitness, strengthens joints & bones, builds muscle, improves flexibility, Ö And it also helps fat loss.

Maintain Muscle. More strength is more muscle. Strength training builds muscle and prevents muscle loss so you donít get skinny + fat.
Burn Fat. Strength training prevents your metabolic rate from going down when dieting. This means more fat loss.
Stick to Diet. Exercising positively influences your eating habits. Youíll stick to your diet better if you do strength training, losing more fat.

Even though I know that peanut butter is very nutritious, I think that the issues here is that eventually you are going to eat something other than peanut butter and the issue is going to start anew. Without an actual understanding of what it means to have a healthy diet I think weight is always going to creep back.
