That's great Marsh714 and NYCMike...... my 7th month mark will be weighed in tomorrow in the morning i will update then, This month to keep up with the same system i have been using (calories burned a day-1750 calories=calories i can eat a day which would lead to 15lb month weight loss), i would have had to eat a monthly average of 1200-1250 calories, but instead of doing that...i decided to stick with last months 1300-1350 calorie average. I can go the day without ever feeling starved, and stay having that full feeling throughout the day, while allowing me to eat allot of "healthy food". When i tried eating the 1200-1250 calorie average, eating right started to suck and i was hungry quite often...so i guess i found what i can maintain at this point in my life. With my new "system" i figured each month i will not lose as much weight because as the calories my body burns per day drops, my calorie intake in relation will increase....but i should be around 200lbs mark by next august (20 year high school reunion). I also just joined anytime fitness to start toning up, since its getting too cold to ride my mtn bike for my cardio and so far its kinda strange doing that type of training but i look forward to see some more changes to my body

I am extremely happy for you. Whatever you are doing is working for you. I think that I am going to have to redo my eating arrangements and get on your page. It seems that whatever im eating is just sticking with me. I have been averaging between 1500 and 2000 calories a day. According to fitday I can eat as many as 2500 a day and still lose weight because Im am suppose to be burning about 4000+ a day. But I have not lost any weight the last two weeks. I do go to the gym almost everyday and get a strenous workout in for an hour to an hour and a half. The days i dont go to the gym I go run 1.5 to 2 miles. I'm just coming from the gym now and I feel great. But I still have not lost a pound this week. I was a little frustrated a few days ago. But the workout feels better than the frustration. Im gonna stick with this and see where it takes me. But I may have to lower my calorie intake a bit. My short term go is to get under 300, Im stuck at 325 now....Anyway keep up the good work.

Thanks Clay, Michael, Beaner... you continue to be a source of inspiration for me. That is really amazing progress Clay, you are killing it right now, keep it up. Marsh - We have all been on the plateau roller coaster, just stay focused and the weight will come off...
I went back and read my first bunch of posts on this site yesterday and got very emotional (note to self: don't ever do that at work again). It has been a great 6 months and I don't want to go back to that place ever again.
Clay - I actually eat a bit more calories then you do... I wanted to look at the number of calories needed to maintain my goal weight and then shoot for a few hundred calories below that. I was eating 1700-1800 calories for while but now I am trying to up it to the 2100-2200 range.
As I have lost weight, I have started working out a lot harder and running a lot more (I run 3-4x a week ~15 miles). 1700 calories was just not cutting it and I was hungry all the time and not feeling well, so I have been trying to raise my calorie intake. I am actually trying to set up an appointment with a nutritionist (if anyone knows one in NYC, please let me know) to go through my food log and make sure that I am eating a good balance. My concern is actually that I may not be eating enough, and I don't want to do that...
Congrats again to all of you...

Hi,
I'm new to the forum here. I want to say hello and thanks for the inspiring posts. I am 55 years old and feel much older. I feel like this time I am really ready to do the 'work' of getting fit. I have 3 little children to raise - DS 13; DD 10; DD 8. I would like to see them successfully into adulthood. I look forward to participating as I realize I do need support and have not been successful ever before so I am looking to trying a different approach. Joining this forum and using fitday are two of the things I want to try. I am trying to stop the thoughts that are not beneficial and not give them place in my mind. So far so good. This week I lost 7 pounds! I almost don't believe my own eyes! I look forward to the experience here.

Hit the 100 lb mark today... Wo0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o!!!!!!!
I celebrated by buying an ipod nano to use while I run and I also picked up 7 pairs of pants from the tailor (aka. my new wardrobe), which include a couple of very nice suits that I never fit into before, can't wait to wear them this week to work.
I negotiated a deal with my trainer that when I hit the hundred, I get to train her. She is in for a very difficult workout on Monday, six months of payback are in order. I also bought her a nice thank you gift for her help and support.
Patti - Welcome to the forum, everyone on here can relate to what you are going through and will support you in your successes and during the more trying times...
Thanks again to all of you for your well wishes and support.
