good luck girl..... this is a great site,,, one of many tools you can use in your journey.... but dont take it as written in stone,,,, it has its faults too,., the calorie counts arent terribly accurate but close enough to help with daily calorie control..... i think mostly it is having someone,{ or in this case something} to be accountable to. If you track every piece of food { no matter how small} that you put in your mouth,,, you,, like most of us,, will probably be very surprised just how much we actually eat in a day!!!! I have aimed for a 1200 calorie a day goal.... and not finding it too difficult to stick to... als i o i have aimed for the 10.000 steps in a day,,, however you want to get them in,,,,I use the treadmill and a stepper,,,, they count out about the same for calories burned,,,
i have lost 8 lbs in the last 4 weeks,,, not a lot i know ,, but it is 8 pounds more than i was able to lose in the last few years all on my own!!!!! i am stickin to it this time.,,,, the alternative is to be 20 lbs heavier every year,,, till,, what...??????? girl power,,, keep goin ,,,,

thanks mytime50!

i've never actually tried to lose weight so i'm new to this. what i've learned in the past month is that exercising is fun especially when you do it along side someone you love.

Hi! I'm 35, hoping to get down to 200 by June 2010(I'm at 212), and 180 by the end of 2010 (taking it slow).

Default 25 to start

Hi! I'm a 24 year old female. I just got to 200 lbs over spring break and I always said that once I reached that weight, I would stop screwing around and do something about my health. I'm 5'4 and have been chunky since I was about nine years old. I got down to 173 about 4 years ago but I couldn't seem to lose any more after that. So my first goal is to get to 175 by my birthday, then after that, I'm hoping to someday be under 150 (so that's 50lbs to lose total!).

Hii,

I'm 18, 5.2 and currently 163.8 lbs. I'm hoping to lose roughly 40 lbs by my holiday at the end of May this year.

Been trying since to middle of February and so far have lost nothing! I do 2 hours at the gym 5 days a week and have cut down on bread, chocolate and crisps as much as possible.
Don't know whats happened, but i suppose i should keep trying?

Hi everyone! This thread is great. Good luck to all of you! My initial goal was to lose 79 pounds. So far I've lost 24.5. My goal is to be 135lbs by the end of September. Although if I could reach it before that, that would be even better.

Currently 145 (down from 182 about 18 months ago) - aiming for 137. So 8lbs to go - the last pounds seems to take forever to move, im getting there slowly ...
