What are YOU looking forward to?
Let's keep in mind what this effort is all for...
My top three: I'm looking forward to not having a fat face in every picture. I'm looking forward to not having to yank down my shirt every second because someone may see my "muffin top". I'm looking forward to goal weight so I can finally eat my maintenance calories. |
Two years ago I lost 30 pounds and LOVED the way I looked and felt. I the past 6-7 months I've slowly regained about 15 of those. I'm looking forward to:
Fitting into my skinny clothes again The look on my husband's face when I'm in my skinny clothes (and out :-)) |
Great motivating thread!
I am looking forward to:
Having every pair of jeans in my closet fit me. Improving my fitness so that when tennis starts again in the spring, I can really "bring it"! Being at peace with how I look, how much I eat, and how much I exercise, instead of always thinking I should do/be better. Who else has a top three? |
Hmmm, my top 3 would be:
Getting my blood sugar under control and lowering cholestrol to normal levels!!! Not having a double chin or a giant belly, which you just can't hide!! LOL!! Fitting into my clothes again!! Some of which I can wear again now!! YAY!! |
Getting off of my blood pressure meds.
|
I can definitely relate to the fat face - even when not overweight my face looks fat in every pic.
Top 3 (not including face) Not feeling down about my weight Being able to get back into shape to run with daughter and her friend in 5/10 k races Knowing I look and feel great! |
I want my clothes and my confidence back
I have a whole laundry list of things I'm looking forward to! But here are three:
First - feeling confident when I'm with people who knew me when I was at my goal weight. That shame I've been suffering this past year is crippling. I'm looking forward to being free of it. Second - fitting into my favorite Calvin Klein jeans - which were my 'fat' jeans when I was last fit and fabulous. I will wear those again by summer. I also have two pairs of utility/fatigue shorts that I used to hike in. I want to get my butt into those! Third - wearing tank tops and fitted tee shirts without wanting to cover up. (They go with the above shorts and jeans nicely!) I have a whole wardrobe that I can't wear right now! |
O.k. Here are mine:
1) Being able to throw clothes on from my closet and know I look good rather than try to conceal my "rolls" 2) Feeling confident 3) Feeling energetic |
I look forward to:
not being called fatass by family avoid uncomfortable stares finally look good in whatever I wear. |
I look forward to:
first: I finally love my mirror. second: be able to take off my shirt at the beach and be ripped by this summer. third: being in better shape than most guys half my age. |
Being able to walk in shorts or a skirt without my thighs sticking together
Having my chest stick out farther than my gut Having the energy to take the kids outside and actually run and play with them |
Looking forward to:
1. a sound mind. 2. looking fit and vibrant for my husband-to-be. 3. experiencing the reward of living a healthy lifestyle when old. |
I'm looking forward to:
1) catching a man's appreciative eye instead of being invisible 2) feeling proud at sticking to and acheiving my goals 3) getting off blood pressure and chlorestrol drugs |
hmmnn....what am I looking forward to.....ugh....so MANY things:
1--feeling comfortable in my own skin-not constantly tugging at my clothes to hide-feeling confident. 2--shopping in the regular stores--at the MALL--not just the "plus" size stores and buying clothes that I really like not just buying something that is "good enough" because it fits and covers me up. 3--not being the "fat" mom anymore! ...I could go on and on...... :) |
Mmmm....good question to keep me focused! The list for me is very long, so here are the three that immediately popped into my head:
Number One: Walking into a room of strangers and not seeing the inevitable eye avoidance-thing that happens when they notice I have a pretty face, but I'm a FAT GIRL. So sick of this and having to work my personality around it. Number Two: Getting my blood pressure and health back so my daughter will stop worrying about me. Number Three: Doing anything I WANT without my weight being an issue, like going down the water slides in a tube and roller skating and riding rollercoasters and running, etc. Freedom from FAT!! And yes, I know number two should really be number one, and it is, I just put them down in the order they popped into my warped head. :D |
1) fitting in all the clothes in my closet
2) not having to pull down my shirt to hide the rolls 3) feeling sexy again! |
What I'm looking for to.......
I have a very long list.. but the top 3 are, 1. Feeling like I control my weight, not that my weight is controlling me! 2. Not feeling like I am a beached whale anymore. 3. Finding a bra that actually fits! I have more things that i look forward to but those are just a few. My self image and my clothes bother me more then anything else. I hate tugging at my clothes! And I have to agree with kaskat "feeling comfortable in my own skin-not constantly tugging at my clothes to hide-feeling confident." this is my ultimate goal! |
1. achieving my goals
2. a six pack 3. being done with my cutting phase of weight lose so that I can start to add some muscle. |
Oh where to begin....
I'd have to say that what I'm looking forward to most is:
1. Waking up in the morning and feeling rested, alive and ready to spring out of bed and take the day by storm. 2. Keeping up with all my kiddos. 3. Buying my clothes off the regular racks in the regular stores. |
Top 3:
1. Feeling healthy, particularly improving my breathing (tired of getting winded from minimal exercise) 2. Looking good again (I miss that I used to be in great shape and hate knowing that I let myself go) 3. Having a clear mind both in the sense of being healthy and not worrying about looking fat. That is my broad stroke. I know there are many more objectives that go along with these but I don't want to ramble. |
1) Looking forward to having more confidence
2) Looking forward to having more energy 2) Looking forward to not feeling randomly yucky during the day |
My goal is to go into my 5th decade of life healthy and see my 6th, 7th and maybe 8th decade. I'm down 55# from my heaviest weight and down 40#since mid November 2009, I already feel better, looks and great fitting clothes are just a bonus. My goal is 240 by my 50th birthday, 11/1/2010.

I am looking forward to..
Having my MOJO back Enjoying the things skinny people do Being able to see every part of my body without a mirror :D |
Some of the comments make me sad, others put a smile on my face. I used to weight 269lbs & now weigh between 135-140lbs & have been at this weight for close to 4 years now.
I remember how all I used to want was to be able to put on a pair on jeans & look good in them. I've reached that goal, for the most part, but I lost the weight in a really unhealthy way. Now my goal is to focus on eating & living a healthy lifestyle, and to try to loose those last 10 lbs... :) Okay, mine are: 1) I'm looking forward to having more energy from giving my body what it needs 2) Having a toned, lean body 3) Going on holidays & wearing a bikini to the beach, and being able to pull it off! *yay* |
