We all have those problems: parties, holidays, losing focus. Keep to the goal and you can do it!

Ugh! Trying hard to get out of the 340s and get my BMI under 50. I'm so close and just keep hovering at the edge. Today starts a new week so it's time to really make sure I focus.

Got up and did about 45 mins of aerobic exercise this morning before getting ready for church. I'll try to go for a walk this evening as well. Didn't get to walk yesterday morning since I was at the farmer's market all morning.

I WILL get over this hurdle!

Default grateful

At first I was going to skip this thread because I didn't have that much weight to lose and I respect that my troubles are likely different than those with 100+ pounds to lose. Then I realized that I did actually hit that benchmark this year- I left my job and my dad died and I ate mindlessly right through size after size at a shocking rate. By the time I came up for air, I didn't recognize myself anymore. I got breathless doing simple things and even washing myself became a logistical nightmare. I reigned in my mindless eating and started walking, and I started getting smaller, but it took months to work up the nerve to stand on a scale again so I honestly don't know what my max was. I restarted fitday at 232.2 and I'm down to 221.4 this morning with at least another 70 to go. It sucks, it's hard, it's having to think about everything I eat and trying to get myself to workout when it's so uncomfortable, but I'm so grateful I'm not doing it alone. You guys rock.

You lost ten pounds! As hard as it is, as much as it sucks to diet, you know you are successful - enjoy that feeling...

Default motivation?

What works best for you guys as far as mini-goal setting? 10 or 20 pound increments? Percentages? Clothing sizes?

For me: the tinier the goal, the better. Lots of positive reinforcement there.

I started to notice, that i was not as honest as i should have been logging food for the previous 6 months, hence my lower losses...so from 01/08/13 to 08/08/14 I attempted to live life without food logging, just using my sense and judgement to live the healthy lifestyle...results +32lbs ( i ate clean for 2 weeks before getting back on fitday log, not to shock myself on the scale..lol)
well back to results

08/08/14 239lbs +32lbs

09/08/14 227.4 -11.6lbs

10/08/14 213.4 -14lbs (exercised about 1.5 times more that previously)

My next goal I set for myself is 199lbs,( Jan 1st, 2015), which i never obtained previously, but i changed some of my diet to eat more with less calories, etc .... on to the next month.

I'm positive that I am listed earlier in this thread, but it is too deep to find. I'm back!

Actually I have been back for a couple of months. Three months since my heart attack and diabetes diagnosis.
I am trying to remember to record everything, but some days get away from me with all the alarms and buzzers going off. Alarms for meds, buzzers to remind me to test, appointments for procedures and I can't forget my daily exercise.
Cooking has become an adventure rather than the throwing together of something edible. I prepare my own low sodium, low sugar, spice mixes and rubs. I make low fat, low sodium, low sugar, muffins and waffles.
I am also trying to keep all the doctors happy with my diet and exercise. One says "yes" while the other says "no" leaving me scratching my head and trying to wing it.
So far my success has been from 330lbs on July 1 to 308lbs this morning. My final goal has me at 200lbs, and I will reassess at that time. It doesn't much matter because the diet is for life. So is the exercise.

Default Thank you Michael

Thank you all 100+ Losers.

I want to be honest and tell my story as part of my process. I was multiply sexual abused as a child, I never liked being attractive to anyone or drawing attention to myself but everyone would always say over the years and extra extra extra weight you have such a kind smile, you'd be so pretty if you lost weight. Always the guys friend never the girlfriend. For all the trauma I went through I know the Lord blessed me with the man I was to marry. Still overweight he didn't care even at 307 Lbs. I was always afraid to have weight loss surgery because my mother did when it first came out lots of complications etc she ended up at 98 lbs and when she died young they listed her as obese. I couldn't breath, had 0 stamina, also dealing with fibromalagia, Rhuematoid Arthritis, etc... I knew I personally would never get the weight off with no stamina etc. I opted for the gastric sleeve. I am grateful I had it I went from 307 down to 230 and still plugging away. I still don't eat carbs maybe a little brown rice lots of protein powder etc. able to walk 3 miles yahoo !!! and all the little things you can now do that you couldn't do before like tying your shoes the right way. thanks for listening to me GOD bless you all.
