Yesterday, I had to go shopping as none of the pants, dresses or suits I wore last fall/winter fit me. I used to be a size 24-26. I am now buying size 14. What a great feeling.

For me, today has been off to a great start, breakfast and lunch total 450 cal, with a balanced calorie split. My exercise this morning included 24 mins of intervals on my elliptical and 30 min of Wii Fit plus. Tonight, we will take the dog for our usual 2 mile walk. Hubby and I are on this journey together and he is doing awesome.

Dinner tonight is Pork tenderloin, homemade coleslaw with low fat/ low cal dressing, and steamed yellow beans. Feeling good and focused. I am so excited about the prospects of breaking the 200 lbs point in the coming weeks.

Live, laugh, love.

TTYL.
Jacqueline, I'm so glad you're doing well! Your dinner sounds great! I know I've not been as committed as I might have been over the summer, but that's life. I've had a lot of fun and still made progress towards my goal.

Looks like we might be hitting the "ones" together! Exciting, to say the least. I hope you'll join me in making a solemn pact NEVER to get over 200 again!

I've spent the holiday "closet shopping", I've got half the King sized bed full of clothes I can wear now--mostly L and XL and a few 2x, depending upon the brand. I've probably got 50 shirts--a far cry from the three 8x T-shirts I was rotating a year and a half ago .

Take care and keep us posted as to your progress!

Regards,
Michael

Fabulous Michael,

Yes, I too have enjoyed closet shopping over the last year. I ran out of closet clothes, when I needed to find clothes for the post labour day worker. I have to admit I quite enjoyed raiding my daughter's closet this summer (a first for me). However she and her clothes are back to university.

I would love to join you and others in a PACT to NEVER breach the 200 pound mark again. I think I need to focus in the coming weeks to get there though

Yup, it's going to be close getting to 199 by 10/10! I had a nice drop last week but bounced up a bit and now it's settling back down--209 this morning. Hopefully we'll see 206 or 207 by this weekend as I've been working on keeping closer to my 1500 a day (my average was creeping up considerably).

I know the days of big losses week after week are gone. Now I'll hold steady for a week, drop two, three or four, then bounce back up two or three, and so on. At least the trend is still in the right direction. I guess this is to be expected as I get down to the last 30 odd pounds.

Regards,
Michael

Hi,
Just love reading the enthusiastic banter !!
Keep it up. It motivates me to keep going ,as personally I'm still a long way from the magical 200 Lbs number. I feel I have to focus on realistic short term goals . (A game plan learned from reading countless posts on this very forum )
Michael,
I'd love to treat you to an ice cold 67 calorie Molsen Canadian beer when you reach the *199* lbs point ,but unfortunately geography is an issue.

04/08/2011 440lbs Starting weight, 5'10", 37 years old

05/08/2011 420lbs -20lbs

06/08/2011 396lbs -24lbs

07/08/2011 376lbs -20lbs

08/09/2011 358lbs -18lbs

100lbs in 5 months . . . 1st goal met, next is for 299lbs by 01/01/2012, been using fitday.com, changed way of eating, only drinking water, skim milk, and coffee (when needed), doing cardio by riding mountain bike, and feeling better than ever. That pretty much wraps up my first post.

WOW !!!
5 lbs a week average for 20 weeks is fantastic.
Great work. Your average will eventualy drop as you become lighter,so be sure to keep that drive going .
I (and many others) love to see these positive posts as they are a wonderful reminder that our goals are indeed achievable.
How often are you weighing yourself?
All the best !!

once a month, i sometimes can be ocd, so by limiting myself to once a month, it helps me a little.....i chose the day based on the same day by monthly budget starts (ocd) and cc billing cycle ends....so i have something forward to look forward to....i been doing 30min to 1 hour cardio about every other day, but i have been reading about burst training, so i am going to try that this month and see how it goes...the 1st two months there was no fitness activity involved, and the last 3, i did mountain biking for cardio....so i am going to stick with mountain biking but going to try it in the burst method. From what i read, it burns fat for about 36 hours after session, so you should only do it 3 times a week, for about 10 minutes, anyone can find that time....thanks

Great job! Boy, the weight sure peels off fast at first, doesn't it?!

Keep up the good work--that step down to the "twos" is a great feeling, I'll tell you.

Is this your first time at the big weight loss rodeo? If so, I hope you get your head right and don't ever slip back into old habits like I did. If not, well, you know what you need to do differently this time.

Regards,
Michael

This is the first time i'm going down...after a knee injury and a bout of depression from it right after high school i gained about 140lbs over 20 years, i just managed to work with the weight, then due to a strange/funny change of events april 6th-8th of this year with my father breaking his arm, a cold spell, and happening to come across an article in health/fitness section of a gun forum i frequent ...things started falling in place where a life change was put in place, and so far have been able to stick with it....hopefully i can keep up the "rapid" weight loss till i hit at least 299lbs, then if it tapers off a bit, i would be okay...but that is my next goal by the 1st of the year.....

Wow Clay, that is awesome, keep it up!

I hit the 75 Lb loss mark today!!! I got my sights locked in on triple digits. I think when I lose 2 more Lbs, fitday will say that I am not extremely obese anymore... so I got that going for me, which is nice.
