I really do not know how to answer you. Was looking at your foods list. Are you Vegan? I do not see any meat. I only looked through a few days. My own weight loss has been really slow and for me I was thinking I might be getting too many carbs. They are sugars. Some are through the fruits I eat. AND I never feel deprived so in a way not feeling like I am on a diet so I am sticking with what has been working for me even if it is SO SLOW.
1000 Calories is not much for your height. I am only 5'5" and eating in the 1000 to 1300 range. Some one told me to switch it up every few days so I have been trying to do so. And then it looks like I fall right back to the 900 to 1000 calories again. I really am rarely hungry and when I am I eat a few peanuts or even a few crackers with light cream cheese on them. I do think a person needs to find what it working for them and stick to it. For you I would add a bit more every few days just to keep your metabolism guessing. I am glad I looked at what you are eating because I would like to copy some of it. Since I am also feeding hubby I try not to make anything I eat special so I am not having to constantly cook different things for each of us. Some times I just leave off something he eats from my plate. For the most part I am just trying to eat better choices for things and not really diet because I never want to have to go off this way of eating. So do not be too strict on yourself. Maggie |
I think "starvation mode" is pretty much a myth. After a 30 day 0 cal water fast, I did 1,000 cals a day, 10 grams or less of fat religiously (using FitDay), for 9 months and dropped around 200 pounds (I did excercise every day as well and drank a gallon of ice water daily).
Now, I am a 5'10 male and weighed around 400 pounds and I did not "starve". Now, I realize that I lost way too fast and never did mentally adjust to the "new" me. I fell back into old habits and gained it all back over the next seven/eight years. I'm now doing a more reasonable 1500 cals a day, not worrying particularly about fat and losing on average 3 lbs. a week w/o much exercise (I will do more when I get down around 300 so my back/knees/ankles don't complain so much). I've dropped +/- 80 pounds since I started in May. This is my experience, not advice or any sort of recommendation so use the info at your own risk--YMMV. Good luck and keep up the fight! Michael |

At 1,000 cals, do remember to take a good vitamin--you really can't get all the nutriants you need at that level. Keep us posted as to your success!

Just take a complete multivitamin, it's hard to know which ones you may be deficient!

Hi hun,
I think at your height and calories, you aren't getting enough exercise! Work out! and you'll be hungry...trust me. |
