Hello, I'm new here. I started at 216 in July 2010. I'm currently at 181, so I'm down 35 lbs. I weigh-in on Friday mornings, so I'd like to be added to the list. Thank you!

Hi everyone, this is really tough this year during the festive season

Last year i was so focused and nothing got in the way but it seems i may have become a bit too comfortable and losing the last 20 or 30 pounds is tough. But trust me, i will DO IT~! lol I am down a pound this week so all is good. Have a great week everyone )

Default Friday Weigh-In Gang Dec. 17

We have a couple more weeks of Holidays then maybe I can get my head right and drop a few pounds. Still been doing good with workouts and jogging but I get nowhere without cutting back on calories. Stayed same for the week. Good luck everyone.

I dropped one pound this week. So, I'm at 180 now. Like others, I'm just trying to get through the next two weeks without a gain. I'll consider that a success. I'm doing some holiday baking for my family and it's not been as difficult as I anticipated to have a little bit in moderation.

Someone here has a quote that says something like "If you drop an egg, you don't throw the other 11 on the floor." I'm paraphrasing, but it's something like that. That was always my problem when I tried to make changes to how I ate. If I blew it, I would just throw in the towel for the rest of the day. I'm trying to be extremely faithful to logging every single thing I eat. What I'm finding is that even by having a few holiday treats, I'm staying within my calorie range for the day. It's the high end of the range and my weight loss has slowed the past two weeks, but I'm still on target. I'm not blowing it because I've had a few extra things I don't normall eat.

See, if I wasn't logging in my food, I would just assume I blew the day and would eat more. So, I can say, logging my food has really, really helped me stay on track and see that this really is a lifestyle change I can live with.

Tavish, I think you're doing great. That "All or Nothing Thinking" was (one of) my problems for years. If you've eliminated that stinky little thought process from your mind, you're so much further ahead in the quest for successful (and permanent) weight loss. Keep up the good work!

I agree with everything you said Tavisha, I thing the single most important tool I have used is the food and exercise journal. I think I need to plan on using it for the rest of my life because it makes me take note how I'm doing on both diet and exercise. I don't mind taking the 5 minutes a day in return for being healthy.

Well i am up just a bit....and now i am thinking if i get through the festive season within a couple pounds, it will be a success!! It certainly isn't the mindset i had last year at this time when i started, i will have to get that back in the new year.
