I am glad to see that the Friday Weight-In Gang is back up. I’ve been on summer vacation and gained a considerable amount of weight. :( I am feeling a bit depressed about it.

I have no excuses; I have to pick myself up, dust myself off, and start again.

So I plan on posting here this coming Friday.

KMS - I hope you enjoyed your indulgences. :) I usually have a treat during the week as well, so I wouldn't sweat it.
I hope you're doing well on your goals so far - they certainly look like good ones. I really need to get back to being diligent about taking my vitamins, oof. You've inspired me - I'll start being good about that again!
How's the Shred treating you? I did the Shred for a good while when I was starting to work out. It kicked my butt, and I do remember getting results with it.

aug77 - welcome back to you, too. It's a good time of year to get goals back on track and get things going. Just focus on making good choices every chance you get and before you know it, you'll have some momentum going. Don't beat on yourself, just move forward. Easier said than done, I know, but with every bit of success you achieve, every so-called failure will be that much more firmly rooted in the past.

Hi guys!

So I haven't done well...the shred was not kind to me :( I love it the first day I do it and then can't find the motivation to do it again the next day. I forgot my vitamin yesterday, forget to drink water all day and my eating, while not crazy has not been very good. So, rather than wait until tomorrow to try better, I thought I'd come here fess up to not doing too great and start right now with my goals again.

aug, butterfly, change, efduncan, farah, jma, and kristin I hope you're all working your tails off, we can really do this!! I have so much faith in us!

I'm taking my weight from last week, but I suspect I'm a couple of pounds heavier, so I'll probably revise on Friday to get an accurate starting point.

I'm just trying to lose about 7 more pounds (down from 123 on a small, pear-shaped, 5'3" frame, so my goal is in the healthy range). More than weight, though, I'm trying to stop using food as a crutch for relieving stress. So far, calorie counting is the only thing that works, though I often feel like I'm just replacing one food obsession with another.

Friday Weigh-in Gang, Aug 26th 2011
 
hey guys long time no show.

I've had a horrible summer weight wise and i'm pretty much back at square one.

i plan on join the gym in a week or so, i only have one week left of my internship which started my derail from the tracks.

I've gained back 20 pounds, i'm unfit and I've gained inches again. i'm extremely ashamed of myself i was hopeing to be under 200 lbs by this point.

i failed myself and i need to start over from scratch.

also internet explorer does not like letting me make posts on these forums any way i can fix that?

Hey Yanalee, don't fret, I experienced the same thing this summer (gaining 20 pounds). We've acknowledged it; we'll just get back into the saddle, and try again.

So far as your IE issue, I don't understand why you are having difficulties posting. I am using IE and haven't had any problems, at this point.

when i think about it i did bounce around alot last summer too, but i was trying and had more control when it came to working out so i never really gained alot, and by the end of summer i had kept off 6 pounds.

but this summer was too much no time to work out sitting infront of a computer alot

and eating alot more fast food doesn't help

Yunalee, I know how hard it is to be positive after regaining weight you worked so hard to lose. But you should feel good about seizing the reins again before putting all the weight back on (which is what I did this spring :mad:). You're still down 5 pounds, and everyone here knows how much effort and dedication those 5 pounds took, so congratulations on that!

Eat clean for a week, and you may be able to shed a few more pounds very quickly. I find that to be the case whenever I get back on the wagon.

hey guys, i dropped 5 pounds in a week. wow i guess i had alot of water weight mostly from eating too much crap the last week, this week was alot better.

only thing was yesterday i had too much coffee and got quite the shock from too much caffeine, so i don't know if this has something to do with it. snice my heart feels like it's still nervous. but i'm ok!

I didn't really lose over 2 lbs in a week, since I've been bouncing around 112 since the beginning of August, but I'm thrilled that the scale has finally caught up with my efforts. 110 was my short term goal and I only want to shed a couple more pounds. I really need to start focusing on fitness, since I'm a textbook case of "skinnyfat," but my job is irregular with a lot of late nights, so it's hard to establish a consistent schedule.

Woo hoo! Big congrats to the both of you. Awesome to check in and see that y'all had great results.

I'm still on this plateau, but technically I'm down .2, so I'll take it. ;) I take pix of myself at the beginning of every month for comparison & motivation purposes, and although I lost 1 pound total in August, the changes in my body from Aug. 1 to Sept. 1 were really striking. So, thankfully, working out like a crazy person in August did *something* - just not something that the scale shows. And I fit into a size 10 as of this morning. ! Craziness; the last time I weighed 175, I wore a size 14. Definitely put into perspective the importance of body composition. ;)

hey guys it's that tie of the week again.

i finally started to try and get back on track, my food is still off, but i started trying to get more exercise since Tuesday.

i also had a change of scale and i'm back to using my wii fit for my weigh-ins.

i also think i should of double checked my weight last week, but then again the day before last week i had too much coffee so my motabalism must of been threw the roof.

i also signed up for a zumba and tai chi class that start in 2 weeks to get me going again, and also going to see if i can go swimming once a month as well.

i hope to gt to 200 lbs by the end of the year!

Hola, all, I hope everyone had a great week!

Yunalee - sounds like you're firmly back in the saddle. I admire your persistence - I know you'll get to where you want to be.

I'm very happy to have lost a pound, and am happy to say that week 2 of *not* logging my food has been successful in that I'm still losing weight. I'm no less mindful of eating/portions, and how many calories I'm at, it's just that I don't log it in to a computer every day. I never wanted to log food for the rest of my life. After a year and a half of logging, I really wanted to see if I could (safely) remove the training wheels. So far, so good, although I'll definitely go back to it should my weight go up, weight loss stall, or something like that. Note that this is not by any means a judgement on 'lifelong loggers,' it's just not something I want to to do forever.

Changeisgood29 – congratulations on losing without tracking!! I’m a long way from being able to do that, which I’ve proven yet again this week.

I’m not weighing in today because I’ve been visiting family the last couple of days. I did pretty well the first day, but yesterday got ugly. I have two more days here before going home, and I know I’ll be going back with at least a pound or two extra.

hey guys, still trying to iron out the kinks of my downfall. getting better but still not quite there. but it takes a few weeks to kinda figure out your new routine and such. i went swimming on Monday and am going later today to go swimming. i forgot for fun swimming can be.

That's great about you starting zumba and tai chi; I know that you will get a thorough work-out doing those activities.

Hey all, I hope you're doing well, and pardon my late weigh-in. I'm at the same weight as last week; my stomach hasn't been feeling so hot this week, so I'll attribute it to that. Or the fact that my weight loss has been super slow for the last few months, despite many efforts to switch things up, etc. It is what it is.

Sorry to hear you've got the cold that's going around. Mine started w/the scratchy throat, too. Now that's gone but I still have congestion and cough. It seems to be, one week later, on the way out, though. Hope you feel better soon!

Awesome job on an inch lost, yunalee! That's great news. I'm glad that you like Zumba - it wasn't really my thing when I tried it, but I can definitely see how it can burn a ton of calories. Hope the scratchy throat was just a fluke and you're feeling better.

Yunalee, I'm glad that you found an exercise that's a lot of fun. It's terrific that you've lost an inch from your waist... That's always a good thing. Hopefully your scratchy throat won't advance further into a cold.
