So, I upped the workout intensity this week, and am currently feeling like someone kicked me in the stomach, that's how sore le olde abs are. :O Anyhoo, I hope I see better results next week once my body gets a bit used to the higher intensity stuff. Good job to everyone; keep fighting the good fight.

Yunalee - I'm glad to see that you're still kicking around. The biggest "secret" to success of damn near any kind is perseverance. I know it sucks when we have a bad week diet-wise, but it's important to take accountability for it (like you just did) and move on. No need to feel bad - food choices do not make you a good or bad person - it's just food.
In regards to your questions... What is it specifically about office life that's affecting your success? Are you surrounded by junky food? Is it the inactivity? When I worked at an office, it seemed like every friggin' day there was some event that called for free food, and it was *always* not very nutritionally sound. What to do? I highly recommend bringing your own lunch or, if you can, keeping oatmeal, granola bars or other easily portable snacks with a long shelf life, at your desk. Not to say there's anything wrong with partaking in office treats occasionally - I just remember there being way too much of it around all the time. ;)
When I was in school, I spent 4 hours/day commuting, so I know what that's about. My guess is that because of this you feel as if: 1) you don't have time or the energy to prepare healthy meals, 2) you come home starving because you had to sit through a long commute before eating, and 3) you don't have time to exercise. I may be wrong, but these are things I encountered when I was commuting. Similar to the office issue, I think healthy snacks will be a lifesaver for you - if you have access to a fridge, yogurt, cheese sticks, veggies, and fruit are all things that can tide you over. I don't really do well with nuts (I have a tendency to eat waaaay too many of them, even after a year+ of this, lol), but if you are a stronger woman than I, by all means you could package them in individual serving size containers/baggies and that could work too. Also, you could prepare meals on the weekend, put them in tupperware, then freeze and thaw throughout the week as necessary. Also, if you like them, eggs and frozen veggies make for a cheap, quick and delicious dinner. If exercise is an issue, the way I see it, you have 3 options: 1) wake up earlier and do it, 2) do it at night (push past your tiredness), or 3) do some in small spurts throughout the day - i.e., 3 10-min increments. Once you make it a top priority, it'll get done.
I hope that's of some help - keep on keepin' on!

Lol, like I said, I've been there, and I know it's tough. So don't forget to cut yourself a bit of slack as you try and improve - I know you can do it. I'm more than happy to encourage you - thank you for saying it makes a difference. ;)
