My Reasons for Losing Weight
We all have our excuses for why we are not doing it. Let's wipe them out with our reasons we need or want to succeed. Please add your own.

1. I need to lose weight if I want to enjoy all the activities I love into my senior years.

1. I hate the way I look.
2. I want to live well into my 80's.
3. I want my sex life back.
4. I want my knees and back not to hurt so much when I roll out of bed.
5. Did I say I want my sex life back... ;)

Great idea Mary!!

1. I want to lose the weight I gained when I quite smoking 15 years ago once and for all!
2. I want/need to live a long healthy life and feel comfortable in my own skin at the same time.
3. I want/need to set a good example for my children.

What a great idea! This is so much more positive than listing your excuses.

My reasons for wanting to lose weight:

Control my blood sugar
Control my blood pressure
Increase my energy
Improve my breathing
Fit into my smaller clothes
Get thinner than Robin. (the name changes regularly! LOL)

Jenai - truth be told I wanna be a Hot Gramma - however the physical benefits seem to be increasing in importance with age. With success we will reach both goals.

1) I want to stop taking high blood pressure medication.

2) I want my weight not to be an issue when I visit the doctor’s office.

3) I want to be smaller for airplane seats and more activities while traveling.

4) I want to fit Misses sizes clothing and shop at the regular size stores in the mall.

Fantastic idea!

1) I want to lose weight because I've been overweight since I was a teenager. I want to know what it's like not to be overweight

2) I want to wear cute clothing

3) I want to be sexy for my awesome husband (he thinks I'm sexy, but I want to FEEL sexy for him)

4) I want to start trying to have children, and I want to show them what it's like to live a healthy life

We all have our own reasons. Activities while travelling hits home with me. One of the reasons I'm back on track is I was not able to keep up with the group on a recent trip. Not being able to Walk on the Great Wall of China was a downer but I was afraid to try as it could have messed me up for enjoying the rest of the trip.

I have a picture taken at my heaviest - 10 years ago - that I came across the other day. It's a candid bathing suit shot and I never believed I was that heavy. It is now in my diet journal to remind me of how I looked then and that it could happen again if I don't keep at this.

Terri - you have an exciting life planned. getting and keeping in shape now is a great idea and something all us seniors on the site wish we had done.

All the above are good reasons!, I have lost 53 lbs I have 116 more to go, and for the first time someone said I looked good!. great motivation! this weekend I may take a "during" picture
