I didn't gain weight, but it took about 6 weeks to 2 months to see weight loss. I lost about 6 inches and 2% body fat, so it was muscle gain for me. Once I got over that initial couple of months, the fat started melting away (1 lb/week).
Have you been measuring yourself? How long have you been at it? What types of workouts do you do? What kind of calorie deficit are you aiming for? How much weight have you gained? If you have strength training in there, it could be muscle mass that you are gaining. If you are cutting calories too much, your body might be starvation mode.
It sounds like you are working hard, so keep it up! It sounds like you just need a tweek somewhere!

Thanks so much for the reply…I am doing Crossfit as my form of exercise 4 times a week, and then 1 day I am running. I am not sure if you are familiar with Crossfit, but I do a lot of weighted squats, deadlifts, kettlebell training, etc. I started doing Crossfit in January, and took off the month of March with working out and calorie counting due to my wedding. After that, I went right back to working out and calorie counting. When I first started Crossfit I weighed 128. I now weight 138 (I am 5’4). I have also measured my body and I haven’t seen any losses in that area either. The good thing is I have gained in my performance – I feel stronger and feel that my endurance is up, it is just so frustrating to not see the number in the scale reflect my hard work. I am also not seeing any difference in how my clothes fit me – in fact, some of my clothes (especially pants) feel tighter on me.
As far as my calories go, my max last week was 1,619 with my lowest day at 1,196. I usually keep it in the 1,300 range. I have been trying to keep my Carbs/Protein/Fat at a 40/30/30 ratio, but I am not sure if I should even be doing that.
I appreciate your advice.

I don't really have anything helpful to say but I started Crossfit 3 months ago and have gained weight and inches. I do know some of it is muscle but it's definately flab around the belly. I feel stronger but really need to focus on my diet which I think is pretty good but the numbers show may not be. I have to say though, I love Crossfit and have given up hockey, ball hockey and the crosstrainer to focus on this workout as I feel it is so much more effective. I hope you get things sorted out soon.
