Thursday's numbers:
Cals.: 1,749 Fats: 101.1g Carbs: 85.1g Proteins: 135.4g
Food Porn Gotta gloat a little bit - we splurged in our once-a-year special summer dinner - lobsters (2 each!), butter and fresh corn on the cob! That's why those numbers are so high!
In addition to going berry picking, worked out in the garden weeding in the afternoon and laying more mulch. At least the temps are reasonable!
Today is a wet one - we are finally getting some much needed rain - and the temps are in the mid to upper 60's! Love it - hope it encourages the body to release some water weight! Managed to get in my 5k - my friend and her pooch joined me, walking in the rain!
April, congrats on the change - it's sooo nice to see those numbers dropping!
Mern, you mention adding the egg beaters to your protein shakes - do you run them through the blender? I have a couple packets I haven't tried yet, simply because the carb to protein ratio isn't all that great - figured I would have them for dessert, on days my numbers are low... But if I add the egg whites, that would change things up for the protein totals...

Judi, great job on your gardening exercise.
I don't know if we're talking about the same thing since you said packet. But it could just be you say packet where I say carton. What I use is a liquid.
The nutritional info on the carton says a serving is 3 tablespoons or 46g. It has zero fat, zero cholesterol, 25 calories, 50mg sodium, 70 mg. potassium, less than one g carbs, and 5g protein.

I actually use a store brand equivalent which is 1/4 cup serving for zero fat, zero cholesterol, 30 calories, 115mg sodium, 100mg potassium, 1g carbs, 6g protein.
I originally started using the egg substitute for the zero cholesterol and zero saturated fat as opposed to regular shell eggs. But I do see what you mean about the protein to carb ratio. My low carb protein shake alone gives me 24g protein for one carb.
I have a plastic shaker bottle that has a coiled wire insert that breaks up clumps so I don't have to use a blender. But if I didn't have that shaker, I'd use a blender.
Our weather today is better than the heat wave--about 76 but horribly humid with just a sprinkle of rain. We're headed back into the heat wave again tomorrow, though.

The packet is the powder for the nutritional shake - the brand is Spiru-Tein Whey
I have a plastic shaker bottle that has a coiled wire insert that breaks up clumps so I don't have to use a blender. But if I didn't have that shaker, I'd use a blender.

Judi, oh, sorry I misundersood--thought your egg substitute was in a packet. LOL My Walker Diet whey based low carb protein powder just calls for water. I love to add water, egg substitute, and some ground nutmeg to their banana flavor--tastes a bit like thick holiday egg nog. YUM That Spriu-Tein Whey is too carby for me, too, since I can have only 25g net carbs for a whole day--and that includes my green veggies that a lot of people don't count. BUT, as you said, the Spiru-Tein might make a nice dessert when you can afford the carbs.
Hope, I'm glad you enjoyed a margarita. Sometimes the stuff we gotta do to get or stay healthy (food and exercise) just sucks, doesn't it? I'm doing well foodwise, 50-50 on logging, and exercise is a wish for the future.
We've got the dents pounded out on GD's car, but haven't been able to do the patchwork yet because of rain. )

Mern, s'okay - as it turns out, today was a carb loaded day! Will have to save the shake for another day...
I definitely went overboard with the blueberries (fruit crack!), and made chocolate gelato...It really wasn't too bad calorie-wise, but the sugar put it (& my #'s)over the top! Was happy with the way it came out - quite yummy & made with lactaid for youngest son (who is what we affectionately refer to as a milk dud!).
Calories: 1,483 Fat: 61.3g Carbs: 117.8g Protein: 129.0g
With the rain taking over most of the day, just got some misc stuff done...Looking forward to tomorrow's sunshine!
Mike, sorry about the whole camera debacle!
That really sucks - was it still under warranty? That doesn't help with the missed photos (what a heartbreak!), but perhaps you can get a replacement or a fix?
