Quinn, I'll continue to keep you and your Mom in my prayers and add extra ones for her comfort, feelings of security, and maybe even some new friends.

I kinda reallly wanna jump in - I gotta tell SOMEBODY my news - I am officially (back) in the 100's!!! I started combining my old standby calorie counting with Primal/low(er) carbs, and the weight has finally started to move - in the right direction! Yippee-Zippee!

Okay, onto the goals - this week is keeping the carbs below 100 - closing in on 50, when I can! The major amount of carbs will be consumed at dinner. Hope to control the calories 1600-1750. I will continue to move the mulch onto the garden beds (3 yards), after pulling the weeds. I will also be walking (with some brief running -/+ 100 feet, 4-5 times), the 5k loop I started traversing back mid-June. Oh, and use the push mower (power)to mow the lawn, probably tomorrow.

As far as personal goals...hmmmm...without going into detail, perhaps controlling my negative (self) thoughts and stop second-guessing others' thoughts and intentions. No, girl, you really CAN'T read minds!

Thanks - motivation is much needed, and the chance to share is much appreciated!

Judi
Welcome aboard Judi. I think thin "Forums" button should flash like the the Krispy Kreme sign. We all go in to too many details from time to time here so don't be bashful. Usually if it's something explicit (like food porn haha) or a pretty hard rant we'll type it in white, just in case the others are struggling and don't need the temptation or negativity... but I think we all read it.

Mile 2 was at 14:30 and Mile 3 was 14:07! I keep thinking back to when I first started and I was pushing it to get in 1 mile in 30 minutes, much less 2. I would have walked longer tonight, but the lightning was getting bad so I wanted to get in before the storm started.
Here ya go.

I am used to the "looking good" or "how much is it now" but just "You are so pretty!"...I recovered though. When I told my hubby about it last night I said that I don't view myself as pretty. Thinner? Yes. Healthier? Yes. But Pretty? No. He just shrugged and said "That's your problem then." .... And please please please don't take this as your cue to all say that I shouldn't feel that way. This is in no way a plea for attention. I just hope that by putting it out there in writing that it may help someone who isn't brave enough to write it down but is reading along.

Reached down into the 235's again today. Now to try and keep it there. I dipped there last week but bounced back to 237.
Compliments can throw you off, especially if it's a new one.

1. Do my weight training 3 times Y, Y
2. Eat an average of less than 1400 calories. Y, Y
3. Get at least 80 grams of protein a day from real food. Y, Y

Non-health related goals:
1. Find my house. We were very busy on the weekend and the laundry is undone and there appears to be stuff everywhere. It's getting worse...
2. Convince my mother that I am okay. (My sister lost a bunch of weight and then had a nervous breakdown. Now my mom is phoning me every day to make sure that I am not losing my mind. Seriously, I feel great!)Good news on this front. She called me last night and we talked about other stuff. Maybe it's blown over?

On the good news front, not having a shower and having to go to the gym everyday to do so means that I actually did 45 minutes on the treadmill last night! After all, I was already there, I should do some kind of exercise.
Good job on your goals! Did your sister's nervous breakdown have anything to do with the weight loss?

I puked a little. You can't put something in white and expect me to NOT read it. Especially if you throw out my name.

Thanks for the welcome!

Well, let's see how I did today...

Did the 'loop' this morning - added handweights for the first time, which reminded me to move the arms. Did the loop in 57 minutes, and did manage to get my running in - tried some sprinting 'speed' in the runs. Whew! Managed to get the lawn mowed as well, in addition to getting some work done in the garden (picked 5 lbs green and yellow snap beans - gonna get some pickles done soon!).

Calories: 1,670 Fats: 93.8g Carbs: 72.6g Protein: 138.2g
Not bad - went shopping and didn't get the usual cravings - so I didn't cave!

Keeping the positive thoughts on the forefront - sometimes the hardest part of the journey....

Tracey-congrats on your 2.5 lb loss!

Mike-who is it you're suppose to push this week? And I'll TAKE any loss I get. But you need to BRING it if you're going to beat me to 170

perfectparanoia-Welcome to the group! awesome goals to start out with!

Cassie-enjoy your vacay! we'll be here when you get back

ama-hope your exercise butt kicking is going well. I need to take a page out of your book and do some butt kicking myself

april-you look aMaZiNg!! great job! I seriously doubt you'll look like a man when you reach whatever goal you decide on. I have similar concerns about looking too manly. I've always had broad shoulders and a fairly muscular build, so I'm scared of getting "too small" for my frame. I'm sure we'll both figure it out

Mern-as always, your positivity just urges me to do more. THANKS for that!

Nancy-welcome to the group to you too! I hope that seatbelt loosens for you

nobe-wishing you peace while the kids visit. I agree, use the good shampoo and conditioner while you can!!!!

Hope-you're NOT allowed to give up! we all have those days/weeks/months when we just don't care anymore. I've been there the past couple of months. I've just got to get my head on straight and keep on keeping on

cate-congrats on breaking the plateau!!! I'm trying to do the same with 180

Judi-we gots all kinds a new members around this week! congrats on getting back into the 100s!

WHN stands for What's His Name (coined by Mike). We met on a blind date, and well....it just kinda went from there. I wasn't expecting to fall for him, in fact, tried really hard not to. He's also Army (I attract military boys for some reason). He was stationed in Germany, and will be back in October. For good. He's pretty much perfect for me. Loves me for who I am, doesn't try to change me, etc etc. That's about it I guess.

LOL I almost always read the stuff posted in white. My "need to know" kicks in.

Judi, congrats on your good day foodwise and on all the exercise. You are so right--having positive thoughts is half the battle. Except that I positively get annoyed that my husband can eat anything he wants and I can't.

Mike, are you answering Quinn's question about ME being crabby for no reason--or YOU being crabby for no reason? LOL

Quinn, yeah, I have days when everything anyone says to me just "gripes my a$$." Sometimes it's stress, sometimes hormones, sometimes sadness, and sometimes just because people act so dependent on me and despite how much I love them, I yearn to be responsible for only myself. I know you're a lot younger than I, but I suspect my latter reason is often what hits you up, too. You know what we can always do--vent in white. Get it off your chest. This support group is not just for weight loss. Huge hugs to ya!
