Mern, thanks & tell DH happy birthday for me.

Rose, Chico is such a handsome little man. Merry Christmas to y'all too.

I got to break in my infrared turkey fryer today and that thing is AWESOME! By far the best turkey that I've ever had, so juicy it's unreal.

Figured I'd post my disaster from yesterday before the disaster of tonight...

Health/Fitness

1-- 1300-1400 calories a day--1672,1876,1211,1194,1332,1995
2--limit soda--N,Y,N,N,N,N
3--lose 2 lbs--didn't weigh, didn't weigh, down 2, didn't weigh, didn't weigh, didn't weigh

Life/Home

1--finish blankets--DONE
2--finish wrapping gifts--DONE with bows on ALL
3--bake Christmas Cookies--DONE
4--do not kill coworkers, customers, or family--only dreamt of dismemberment and death a few times. No casulties...reported
5--relax and enjoy everything--one more day to go, but it should go well....looking forward to seeing my extended family

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Torri, yes and no. I remembered it but wasn't sure of the beginning. I laughed and cried.

I was the same way the first time I watched when I got the DVD. I still can't believe Emmet didn't win the Talent Contest.

Is yours the version where Kermit the Frog is the narrator?

BTW....one R....LOL! Torre is spelled with 2

Sorry Tori. . It's not the one with Kermit... I don't think, I'll have to watch it again.

Yeah, the one with Kermit is the "original" one aired by HBO. It's like the Holy Grail of Emmet Otters. I'm still trying to track it down myself.

Aw, Rose and Chico, big hugs to both of you, too. I did have a super happy day and hope you also did. I'm ready, as I'm sure you are, for an amazing year ahead!

Mike, DH said thanks for the birthday wishes. Is that infrared turkey fryer an indoor one? How long does it take to cook a turkey? I baked a ham and it came out perfect--moist and succulent--but it's hard to mess up a ham unless you forget to check the meat thermometer.

Tori, congrats on losing those two lbs. earlier in the week. I hope you will be able to report that it stuck. I was doing really well the past two days of being back on the wagon but cheated badly at Christmas dinner. So hard to watch the food intake at holiday meals. We'll both make a fresh start tomorrow.

Tonight I fell face first into mashed potatoes and gravy, fried apples, and birthday cake. I blame my family for complimenting me on my cooking--son saying the ham gravy was perfect, my daughter saying she forgot how good my fried apples are since I hadn't made them for so long, and DH saying the birthday cake was so moist and light. I said I'd take a nibble of each, but they WERE all really good and I couldn't resist eating waaaaaaaaaay more than just a taste. I didn't want to know the carb and calorie count--I'm sure it was absolutely horrible, so I didn't log it.

Tori, I'll see if I can find a copy.

Mern, it uses propane so you can't use it indoors. It says it takes 10 min/ pound. My 11 pounder actually took just over 2 hours. It was great!
