No more candy coating it! Where are my slackers???? The weekend is coming and it's time to get cracking. http://www.mustangworld.com/forums/i...s/whipping.gif This week so far we've had some serious ass kicking going on, several of us have lost a bunch of weight. Heck the women here even proven that it's not easier for men to lose weight. Look at Quinn for example, she's down 4.6 pounds since Monday! We all know what she's get for that, right? Not only looser fitting pants but she also gets a dancing banana. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/funny/2/banana.gif Everyone else that'll been sticking to it this weekend, keep on rockin' http://www.mustangworld.com/forums/i...s/headbang.gif. For those of y'all that have been MIA. like Mern, Amy, Rose. etc http://www.mustangworld.com/forums/i...es/vba9149.gif

Anyone that wants to join in our 10 mile challenge for the weekend, have at it. I know Cassie is in, she's getting a jump start on it. I think Quinn said she's in. I think she'll be too busy getting inside tips on the games this weekend. Her bookie is going to bust her like Martha Stewart got buster for insider training. For everyone that completes 10 miles this weekend, I'll give you a dancing banana. I'm going to try my 10 miles all in one shot, but I'll take it any way I can get it.

Just did another 3 miles on the treadmill. But I felt guilty. I had a massage today to try to relieve shoulder and hip flexor issues and the massage therapist said that I should take a couple days off anything but normal activity. So I promised I would, lying through my teeth. Walking is normal activity, right? Dude, I have goals to make! And for once that's going well! So I will take two consecutive days off, it just won't be this weekend. Hmm...maybe that will be one of my goals for next week. I'm afraid this is yet another example of Smart Women, Foolish Choices.

Heading to the kitchen to do a batch of white-chocolate-dried-cherry granola bars at the boy's request. I made fish tacos for dinner, which was a nice change; I don't usually do them.

I do solemnly swear not to slack off this weekend. I will be gone much of the day tomorrow but I will be on the site when I'm home, yes indeed I will. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!!!!

Who's the smart woman? I kid, I kid. After getting my epidural, they said to wait like 24 hours before returning to my normal activity. I was like so after a day I can go do squats and deadlifts? They just looked at me funny, I don't remember them saying no though. ;)

Does anyone here bench press with a bar? If so let me know I have another great exercise for y'all to try.

Amy I love your idea for a” tell me what to eat button” like Cassie and yourself I have spent a lot of time adding things into my plan then taking them out just to get that perfect macros blend.

Mike I am so envious of your 4lbs my scale has not moved significantly this week and I am starting to feel pouty about it. I am in for the 10m or 16k as we Canadians say. P.S I love the dancing Santa banana!!!

Cassie & Quinn Great now I am envious of you too (lol).

April You have done a great job of your goals even with having such an emotional week. You are very blessed to have your hubby to stand by your side as you guys address your sons problems. I think counseling is a great idea we went into counseling with our daughter when she got sick to learn how to cope and support her with the anger and frustration she was feeling and it was a huge help. Take care of yourself.

Quinn I hope you found a suitable new dish and enjoyed your night out.

I made it to the gym:D why it’s been such a struggle this last couple of weeks I just don’t know. I going to get on the treadmill and try to get a couple k’s done tonight, I will make the scale move this weekend. Be back later to post my actuals have a fun Friday night.

Darlene, Don't get down. Stay focused and push and that scale will drop just fine. Yeah, little Santa is a true player, all the ladies love him. So you're in for the 10miles? Awesome!:D

Bench Press tip

I guess I'll throw this out there, if anyone decides to try it, let me know what you think!

First off, must people underestimate how much more intense a workout can be when you're fighting for your balance. That's why machines are so much easier, and less effective than free weight. Some of the best exercises such as squats require balance. Ever try doing a single leg squat? They are hard as hell!

Next time you go to bench press, grab a bench and a barbell. I know you're thinking that dumbbells would require more balance than a barbell, in some cases this may be true... but not here. This is where it gets tricky. You're going to use A LOT less weight and it's going to be much harder. You can probably use 25% of the weight that you normally add to the bar, and you may want a spotter... seriously! For example, lets say you normally add 30 pounds to each side, try adding 15 pounds this time... to ONLY ONE SIDE, have no weight on the other side. Give that a whirl. You'll have to push up on the weighted side, while pulling down on the unweighted side just to keep the bar even. Once you've tried that and you are feeling all bad ass and everyone in the gym is looking at you like "I think she may be on to something.", switch sides. You only thought the 1st set through you for a loop, once you switch the weight to the other side, you'll be fighting like crazy to keep your balance. You'll feel your back muscles tightening up, your abs/core will be freaking out, and your ass and legs are going to be like "What in the hell is she doing!!!"

Then come back and tell me if that wasn't harder and more bad ass than you ever expected. This weight lifting tip was brought to you by the letters W, I & N. :)

01gt4.6 11-11-2011 03:39 PM

Cassie, Nice job on you're goals. You keep that up and I definitely won't picture you living under a bridge! :D
