Going on a 1.5 mile hike with my fraternity brothers today! Oh I am so excited!!!

Mike: Whoa!! Sick pumpkin, dude!

April: Have you ever heard of the book “Porn for Women”? It is nothing but buff shirtless men cleaning and saying sweet things like “Of course I don’t mind if your mother comes over for a week!” After hearing about your day of cleaning, it reminded me of that! :P

Hope: What kind of sneakers!?! Ohmygawd please tell us (aka me) ALLLLL about them!!

Oh and just wanted to say Mike ... I just watched your video and you so don't look bad in pink! I'm glad you made your $1000 goal. How was the walk yesterday?

I just got on the scale and I weigh more than I have in 5 years. True last night I ate Japanese food (loaded ith sodium) and movie popcorn, lots of movie popcorn. The eating has been out of control, so much so my stomach actually hurts at night. I am contemplating trying Dukan again even tho last time I tried it I got this weird metallic taste in my mouth for 3 full days after.

Mike, if the pumpkin starts to say Heeeeeeeere's Johhny, run!

Mhibdon, believe it or not, on someone's advice, I got Shape Ups by Sketchers (even tho I am opposed to those ads featuring the women's butts, are those Sketchers? ) SUPER COMFY but I am feeling it in my right calf muscles. I also got a "back up" pair of New Balance which have been my go to sneaker. One of my feet is waaaaaay bigger than the other so it is hard to find good shoes. My feet seem to have spread out (as has the rest of me thank you very much) and I have gone up half a size. When I was younger I was a seven and a half, now I am an eight and a half in athletic shoes. Fascinating info on my feet, huh? If any new developments occur, with my toes, for examople, I will be sure to let everyone know LOL!!!

I am really into the gym (going now as well as for a walk with a friend.) I know I have been eating from frustration with writing and life (health, DD, DH, etc.)

Be well, all!
love,
One Big Bird (Canary)

Great job on your goals!!! Yes, I'd love to see the pic of the boxer pumpkin. I thought about doing a big pumpkin of Chloe' and a small one of Mystie. I may still do it.

They gave us shirts to wear for the walk. The were white with pink ribbons and pink on them. I ended up wearing it most of the day, even wore it out to eat as soon as we got back b/c I hadn't had a chance to make it home and change. The walk itself was fine. There was a nice turnout, although I expected more spectators lining the streets. Maybe that's just how 5k's are. I'm trying to compare it to my 1/2 marathons b/c that's all I know. I will say that the "event" didn't seem as organized as I had expected. In the park everyone was walking around in circles, bumping into each other looking for stuff b/c there was no clear direction. The lines were crazy. They had a line for hot dogs, there must have been 100 people in line and only 2 people handing out hotdogs. Actually one person would hand the other person the bun so he could put the hot dog in it. All in all I had a nice time.

I had heard that our team came in second place for donations. It was funny when my GF and I walked up to meet the team for the first time. My friend Will introduced us to everyone one and they were all like "Hey you're the guy that raised like a thousand bucks!!! How did you do it?" I just told them "I wasn't afraid to ask and even though I didn't have a ton of people to email I had some great supporters that were happy to pitch in." They didn't announce what individual raised the most money but I'm pretty that I was up there. Thanks again everyone.

Hope, sodium is a killer on the scale. If Johnny shows up peaking his head in the door, I'm going to haul ass.

Hey gang, I haven't fallen off the planet, but fitday has been giving me fits. I don't know what's going on but every time I try to log in I get a white screen that say's "DASHBOARD", but nothing else and it won't let me click anything. I've been logging food via the phone app which thankfully is working (for a change). Anyway Friday which is usually my day of diet disaster was pretty good, Saturday was an epic fail (went shopping with my mom and SIL so we ate out twice ), so far Sunday has been okay. I have a really really sore throat, which started late yesterday, so I medicated with a milkshake from Steak & Shake. OY, like 500-600 calories later. Yikes!

I'm off now to work on Halloween costumes. Hopefully I can finish at least one of them. Quinn, LOVE the Cousin It costume, you got a pic to share of that? I still need to come up with something for myself, but it's got to be easy, not more than 2-3 pieces, preferably without a make-up requirement.

Mike that pumpkin of yours is terrifying. Wow, I had no idea you were so artistic! You could sell those babies.

Well, discouraged by my stall in weight loss, I went ahead and purchased the short, (shorter than I usually wear) fitted, black sweater dress that I've had my eye on for our Christmas party. It was a little pricey, so I now have no alternative than to get my eating back under control. It leaves no room for any extra pounds, so it just may be the incentive that I need. I already have an awesome pair of boots and the perfect jewelry, so it's up to me to thin down a little.

I think that's the problem, living in a northern climate... once late fall comes and you're wearing bulky sweaters, jeans and coats, you don't worry as much about a few extra pounds because they're covered anyway.

I just made a batch of breakfast cookies for the week ahead for husband and daughter (oats, raisins, nuts, etc. that they can throw into a lunch bag) and a big pot of home-made chicken noodle soup is simmering on the stove. It smells so good in here right now! Getting everything done so that I can enjoy the Packer game later today. No more high-calorie snacks on game day... planned a late lunch to eat right before so that I can avoid snacking.

I should do like Cassie and hang my dress in the kitchen on the fridge... Maybe that would discourage me from digging for a snack! lol

Hey folks, sorry I dropped off for a couple days! I'm in WV visiting with my parents. They took me out to dinner yesterday and I went a wee bit overboard A giant piece of cheesecake magically appeard in front of my, and there was nothing I could do but eat it! Anyway, I'm headed home today.

Lizzie, I'm very sorry to hear about your cousin. My thoughts are with you.

Mike, good going on the 5k!

Canary, I'm just adjusting my insulin levels 'cause I've been dealing with a lot of low blood sugars. I don't really know why, but it's not bad to be lowering my insulin level, just a PITA. It makes it difficult to stay within my calorie goals if I have to consume 3-400 unexpected calories to take care of lows.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I only have pics from a distance when they did an Adam's Family number at half time. I'll ask her if she has any that her friends took. It's truly a five minute costume... no make-up. 3-4 hula skirts, black sunglasses and a black men's hat.

Hubby and I were a little concerned as she was dancing around near the fireworks and pyrotechnics on a darkened football field covered in dry, grass skirts, but she came out in one piece!

Amy, Cassie was having the same issue. I'm guessing that it's a Beta issue. Try changing your profile back to classic.

That usually works for me. I read your PM while at the race but forgot to respond. I'll go back and check it.

Thanks Joanne. I too have been going off on the deep end with food.

WTH am I doing? I'm currently the highest bidder on this. My max bid is much higher than where it currently is but I seriously doubt it's high enough to reach the reserve, which is good b/c yellow isn't my first choice.

I was just outbid on the bike by $50, there's still 5 days left so I'm sure it'll go for much more. I didn't want yellow anyway.
