Good Morning all, it has been gross and overcast here for 3 days straight where's my cozy fall weather.

Today should be a lot better on sodium I made extra dinner to have for lunch so I won't have processed crap

mtlgirl:
Yay for a good day, and you forgot mounties and moose!

Cold Talk: I definitely don't miss when I lived up north (North Bay) too much snow and cold too long. But I do kinda prefer cold weather cause I love turtle necks and I don't look like an idiot wearing a sweater in the summer (since I swear they keep the AC in our office at like -15 all year round.

Stabbing snow flakes sounds like good exercise. I may have to try that next Feb. November is my bad month as the days get shorter and darker. Once we hit Dec 21st I'm ok. Curling and cross country skiing get me out in the winter.

Need to burn off the Haagan Dazs ice cream today. It was good but not worth the 1200 calories or the lazy feeling today. That should cover my fat needs for this week! Still have not made the Y. I may be in for the slacker award.

1. 80 oz water daily M: Y, T: Y (over 100!!), W: Y (over 100 again!),
2. No mindless eating M: Y, T: Y, W: not so much,
3. Only one diet soda daily M: Y, T: Y, W: Y (didn't have one at all),

Life Goals

2. Border bathroom M: N, T: COMPLETE!
3. Caulk around top of tub M: N, T: N, W: COMPLETE!
4. Laundry M: N, T: Y, W: Y,

I am getting through my list but seems that I still have so much to do. It's hard to accomplish extras during the work week. And I feel so tired this week. Probablly due to all the rain and darkness outside. Yesterday was cool though it poured rain all morning and about a half hour before my lunch the sun came out and it warmed up and I got to go for my walk ... I did take down that caulk strip that I put up yesterday. I hated the way it looked and on second opinion from my hubby it had to go. Good thing I have an extra package. I am going to cut the width so it fits nicer and have another go at it.

In the past I have always had 3-4 flavors of ice cream in my freezer and for the past 1-2 months we haven't been buying any. I had been saying how hungry I am for ice cream so last week my hubby took me to the dairy for a treat. It is fresh made real ice cream in so many flavors. I got ... PUMPKIN PIE ... I love pumpkin pie and it had graham cracker crust in it. OMG I was in heaven. Now I am waiting for my dad to get here next week instead of this weekend so I can take him for ice cream. It was so worth the wait and I think that will be the plan from now on. Don't buy it for at home, have it for a treat when we are out once a month or so.

Lizzie - good for you on planning on exercising while in England.

Wowgirl - congrats on your drop and maintaining it. Mine always seem to bounce back up for a few days after I get one.

Mary - That cafe mocha supreme sounds awesome unless it tastes like coffee at all ... yeck! then I would just prefer hot chocolate topped off the way you described it.

Mike - Good for you on driving past Sonic! I know that had to be hard. I never carry money and I do have a debit card but I refuse to use it for something like that. I have to plan ahead if I want to stop for something that way and my something is usually a smoothie at mcd's. I haven't even had one of them for about 2 months right now.

Darlene - look at you go! A walk and then all that cleaning!! Sounds like a great day.

Quinn - You also sound like you had a productive day and your daughter sounds like a total sweetheart. I bet the older couple was happy the rest of the day from her act of kindness.

It's kind of interesting the way that the whole ice cream thing came about. She works part time at a restaurant. Well, that night a couple in their late 30's told her to select another couple as they were paying their bill. She did and they said that they wanted to pick up their tab as well, anonymously. When the chosen couple came to pay their bill and was informed that it was already paid for, they asked her to select another couple, as they had nothing to pay for. She did. By the end of the night, 4 couples in a row followed the lead of the first couple!

After work, she pulled through McDonald's and was still thinking about how fun the night had been. Since she had a much smaller budget, she thought ice cream cones might work. lol

I'm totally cracking up over the cold talk, here in Michigan we get both extreme cold and heat, although we only have to suffer the worst of it for a few days at a time. Admittedly our heat is almost never into the triple digits, the humidity just makes it feel that way. Also with all the lakes around us the weather is prone to rapid changes. I used to own a t-shirt that said, "Hate the weather here in Michigan? Just give it a minute."

Getting in on the cold weather convo-

Our weather is the worst. But somehow, everyone here acts like it's normal. It's insane! We have snow 6 months of the year. Our first flurries are somewhere around Halloween and our last flurries are in mid-May. This year, two of our "nice " six months rained continually. (June and September)

In the winter, it's not terribly unusual for us to reach an actual temperature, not windchill, of 25-30 below zero F. In fact, school doesn't even delay here unless the air temp. is -20 or colder or snowfall is 12" or more. That means kindergardeners stand out in the cold at their bus stops, unless the parents sit there with their cars running- if they start.

We've had years where the snowbanks in my circular drive are over the roof of my SUV, making it look like a bobsled luge. I have no idea why I live here.

I once flew out of Milwaukee at -20F and flew into Riviera Maya, Mexico at 94F. That's a 114 degree difference in 2 hours! Going down was wonderful... coming home to the cold was tough! lol

Mary, I totally hear you on the GF diet, that's exactly how it works for me. For days and days on end I do really well with it, hardly any cravings, but then WHAM, a hard belly flop off the diet wagon, and it often takes more than a few days to climb back on. So what I've been doing lately is to avoid wheat at breakfast and lunch and then for either snack or dinner I let myself have some. That chocolate coffee from Tim Horton's sounds like the perfect start to any day.

Mike, you are a food porn star, no question about it. Now I want a Reese's Blast and I've never even had one. It's a good thing you don't have a Tim Horton's near you, I can't even imagine how that would read. We don't have a Tim Horton's either, but there is a local coffee shop, on one side they sell coffee, on the other side they sell ice cream. So if you buy a cup of coffee you can walk to the other side and get a free scoop of ice cream dropped in it, instead of cream and sugar. They call it a Mocha Float, it's like a turbo booster for your morning.

wowgirl, I do that too, put my purse in the far back of the van if there might be a drive-thru temptation. It used to be really bad, but the longer I've gone without it, the easier it's gotten. Oh and definitely get a bike, I love mine, not only is it exercise, it's low impact (which I need) and tons of fun.

dar n, say do you want to come over for a play date and um, bring your carpet cleaner? I need to do mine, but I'm on the fence about it, not because they don't need it, but because the downstairs carpets are area rugs and the cost of renting a carpet cleaner is not that much less than throwing them out and buying new ones.

mtlgirl, when you start your snow flake stabbing routine, let me know and I'll join you. Sounds like quite a lot of semi-dangerous exercise. I do have a plastic pirate dagger that might do the trick and be a bit safer...

April, you know I've done that same thing with ice cream, it's okay to have it for a special treat, but it's not okay to have it all the time. Only trouble for me right now is that we bought a big bucket of it for DD's birthday, but the kids at the party only ate about 1/4 of it, and now that stupid bucket calls to me in the middle of the night. It's all the way down in the basement in the back of the deep freezer, but at least twice now I've been down there at 2:00 am in my nightgown fishing it out from behind the 25 lbs of rump roasts I parked in front of it.

quin, I'm loving the pay it forward story. That kid of yours is pretty special.

That's totally hysterical! OMG! The image is priceless! lol

I can't keep bakery (except home-made granola bars), ice cream, chocolate chips, or salty junk food in the house for the same reason. If it's in the house, there's a 100% chance that I'll crash and burn. Lately, for me, it's been bread. I don't know what's going on with that. Toast with butter and/or jam...
