Rose I hope you have a great time in Amsterdam.

Amy Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Terri Congrats on a new low.

April I hope you enjoyed your free lunch, Italian food is so good. Ok I am catching up on posts right know way to have yogurt and not brownies that’s huge.

Mike Let me get this straight your partner made you breakfast and you would have rather had a doughnut, hmmm.

Nailkita Sorry to hear you are having a bad day. I am sure your scale will be back under 200 soon it’s probably just water.

Mern My will power was 50% at the shower today I resisted frog shaped cookies but fell under the power of a mini cupcake, I blame the gold wrapper I am easily distracted by shinny things. A thoughtful guest who I had mentioned to last week I was dieting arrived with a platter of fruit and yogurt dip, I ate allot so my calories are intact today but my carbs are crazy (180).

Halloween is a bad word!!!!

Ann Glad to hear the interviews are going so well.

I have to go clean the kitchen since baby shower dishes seem to be wash by hand type dishes, my next purchase needs to be a dishwasher with adjustable racks that move more than an inch. Have a great Friday night everyone.

Goals
Say something on the forum every day M=Y, T=Y, W=Y, T=Y, F=Y
Do not talk diet with family M=Y, T=Y, W=Y, T=N, F=Y
Exercise daily M=Aerobics, T=Treadmill, W=Walk, T=Step class, F=Treadmill
Calories less than 1500 per day M=1267, T= 1199, W= 1393, T=1354, F=1246
Calorie deficit of 5000 for week M= -794, T= -892, W= -773, T=-1086, F= -742

Darlene, yes, she did. I ate it b/c I appreciated it but I literally had to choke the eggs down. Not that they were cooked bad, they weren't, I just have a hard time with eggs. I really have to force myself to eat them. I would have preferred pancakes. Plus I had it in my head, since I woke up at the crack of dawn to make a PB&J that today would be my cheat.

On a brighter note, this was my weakest cheat in a long time. Heck I just had dinner, wish was a salad, broccoli and a 1/2 shrimp wrap (wheat). I'm probably around 2200-2500 calories for the day, which is awesome for me.

On edit: I went back and put all my food in, it's not pretty and spaced out like I normally do it, but it's what I ate.

oops, I forgot that I had a Zone bar at the office. That puts be at 2345 cals for the day. Not too damn bad, but I'm still counting it as my cheat.

Mike I am bummed to be a girl 1200-1500 calories just does not have enough room for doughnuts and ice cream.I did enjoy a mini cupcake today and had a piece of chocolate and it was a great treat. I am glad to hear you had a reasonable cheat day do you find that cheat days hinder your progress? I don't know if I have the will power to be reasonable if I am giving myself permission to cheat. When I was at my goal weight I let one food at a time back into my diet and before I knew it I was eating ice cream, chocolate and wine and my weight crawled back up slowly. This spring I got laid off after 15 years and the comfort eating made it impossible to put my jeans on and since I had thrown out my old clothes I had to get it together. I am kicking myself for being irresponsible with my diet and I am afraid to give in to any comfort food for fear of failing I just want to be back where I was, but I also know I can't diet forever I need to find a middle ground. Well theirs allot of info you probably don't need but I am posting this anyways as I must of needed to share it.

I really don't know if cheats have hindered my progress. I think it helps me stay somewhat sane, somewhat. I think the biggest thing to hinder my progress was me trying to hard in the gym. I learned that when you're 40 and try to lift like a 20 year old and can have devastating consequences. If it weren't for injuries from me pushing my body past it's limits I would be in a lot better shape. I can imagine a lay off after 15 years on a job can have several effects. The physical part if you don't get active and begin to get bored and the emotional part. I don't even need to explain that to you I'm sure. You are facing new challenges but it's what you make of them that will determine how successful you will be with this weight loss and your next career. Hopefully you got some sort of a severance package and have a nice little 401k, sep, 403b, etc to help soften the blow. You're right, it's a lot harder for females to eat the same amount of calories as us males. This has a lot to do with hormone and the fact the we GENERALLY carry more muscle mass. It takes more energy (calories) to sustain muscles, so the more you have the more calories you'll burn. On the flip side if I'm burning more I'm going to get hungry... and cranky!

It's hard to admit that in our 40's(well in for me) we can't do everything we once could. The company I worked for went bankrupt so no severance pack for me. I was in management so I have accrued a decent retirement fund I think that's the same as a 401k. I have to admit I am a little terrified about putting myself out in a field with newly graduated eager young ones, I haven't been on a campus since 1986. Back to the diet before I reach for comfort food I guess next weeks goals will need some more muscle building in them so I can have a little cheat day on occasion, I have to admit I really miss my glass of wine on the weekends.
Have a great night and stay away from those late night pb&jam sandwiches, hug your wife instead.

Now I will try to catch up, with the last pages at least:

Mern, thank you for the welcome back! And welcome back to you too. Looks like we still need to get into the exercise routine. Great on your husband not needing the BP pills. I really admire you for working hard on your diet so you don't need to take medicine, really its a great thing you are doing.

Mike, Your cheat day was not bad at all! I am interested in the squats! I am very near my weight goal but I think my thighs need serious toning.

Rose, Amsterdam!! No need to say have a great time, because it is guaranteed!

Darlene, You are doing amazing with all your goals! And so low on calories with a baby shower! Kudos to you.

Terri, congrats on the new weight! Hope you get to relax a little over the weekend you sound busy busy.

Wowgirl, congrats on your loss, looks like your hard work is paying off! And best wishes for the new job.

Nailkita, don't stress to much about the number, surely you will be down next time you weigh in. I laughed with your "forget I brought it up, just shut up and eat" phrase, because that thought crosses my mind too many times.

Ann, I got tired just reading your post on your crazy week but Horray! For all those interviews!

Almeeker, sleeping is a good thing and much needed for your metabolism to function so no harm, I need to fix my sleeping habits... they have taken a bad bad turn.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Too late on the PB&J

Main, I'll post up tomorrow on how to do them. My legs are still sore.
