Terri, did you take anything for the back pain? Nsaids can cause water retention, seems odd that an anti-inflammatory would do that, but it's true. Make sure to stay on top of the water consumption today and I think you'll find your scale friendlier by Friday.

Glad to see you all signing up. More work for me when you slack off.

Terri - that extra weight will leave as fast as it came. You will soon be beyond that bouncing over and under the 50 pound mark. It's great when you no longer hit above that previous weight.

Amy The canning sounds great. I thought I was doing well freezing the extra beets. Not that impressed with them - would have been better pickled. No porn intended in the velvet fist. Our local shops stick to fantasyland -- no creative names. LOL

Fall is a great time to get motivated.

Mary

Amy - I took Advil for it on both Saturday and Sunday - I skipped it today as I felt I could get through without it. Hopefully the scale is kinder on Friday as you say. My taco salad for lunch is cheering me up a little bit.

By the way - I am completely jealous of your canning and storing amazingness. It sounds tiring but awesome at the same time, and really rewarding too!

Mike you will have to hit yourself this week. Of course we can all remind you to swing that hammer in your own direction as needed. Mary

I'm back and I'm in.

Terri, feel better soon!

So behind in my housework. No one cared enough about what the house looked like to pitch in and do anything while I was wallowing in self-pity over my sinus allergy misery most of last week. I'm seriously thinking about rebelling by declaring everyone can get their own dinner tonight while I catch up on housework. Oh, payback is so sweet sometimes.

I'm on track so far today and will post my goals tomorrow with my Monday report.

Hugs to all--

I'm glad to hear that you're back up and around and plotting your revenge. LOL.

Hey guys, I keep meaning to jump back in on these threads, but I just don't get around to it, so here I am! Hopefully I will be here all week.

Goals:
1.) Stay under 1500 calories/day
2.) Exercise 3 times

Yeah, I think I'll keep it simple this week. I've been doing alright with my eating and exercise and whatnot, but I've only lost maybe 3 lbs in the last month. My problem is that I'll do great throughout the day, but when I get home at night, I just want to stuff my face so hard! I've been registering deficits of a few hundred calories per day, but that's obviously not getting me anywhere very quickly, so I'd like to get the ball rolling again. I hope you all have been doing well!

I don't like frozen beets either, but you can still pickle them. As you take them out of the freezer, just make up a couple of pints of pickling brine and dump the beets and brine together in a jar in the fridge. They are fantastic that way and only about 50-60 calories for 1/2 cup serving. If you want I can dig up the recipe for that. Let me know.

Velvet Touch is a chain of some sort, there are at least 3 that I know of, and not a window looking in to any of them but they do have display windows featuring scantily clad plastic dummies. There is another one here that I noticed a while back called "Naughty Shoppe", although that name's not terribly creative, it gets the point across I guess. There is also a strip club (at least I think it's a strip club) called "10 Beautiful Naked Girls and One Ugly One". I crack up every time I see their billboard sign. Does it help to advertise that one of the girls is ugly? I don't know maybe that appeals to a certain sector of the population?
