Good Day Bad Day Too much socializing equals too much food and wine however great visits with co-workers and friends I enjoy. Did some cooking therapy tonight as feeling to hyper to relax. Healthy dinner but I should not of made the peach tarts. I hope I can get the left overones into the freezer before they jump in my mouth. Need to get back to exercise for stress relief. Mary

Down 1.2 lbs. of the 3-4 that I want to lose... it's a start. Just got back from walking, but had it cut short by an electrical storm so I think I'll work with my new toys, my weights, while I watch tv.

Goals for this week:

* 4 fruits and veggies a day. (Can't figure out why this has been hard for me this summer as I was, pretty much, a vegetarian for 4 years.) 2, 4, 3, 4

*Eat clean. (Simple enough.) Y, meh, pretty clean, Y

* Log foods and limit calories to 1200. 1326, 1149 (carb heavy), 1109, 1078 (carb heavy)

Sure enough, my scale registered a gain of 3/4 of the weight it told me I'd lost, but it was still down, so no biggie. Although, I went to my nutritionist, and she weighed me on her scale today (which apparently is very accurate and usually registers higher numbers than mine) and it said I'd lost 6 more lbs. than my scale tells me. Of course, the scale isn't the end all, but still...

1.) Stay under 1550 calories/day: Yes/Yes/No/Yes, although may have underestimated dinner out
2.) Drink at least 64 oz. water/day: Yes/Yes/Yes/Yes
3.) Try for less carbs, more protein: Not awesome/Alright/Satisfactory/Good

Day One at the House of Schizophrenic Food went all right.

Will check in tomorrow with more details, but here are the numbers:

1. Keep calories below 1300. 1279, 1275, 1405-I tried; 2 meals on the road, 1275
2. Exercise 6 times (3X weights). Stationary Bike, Weights, Tennis
3. Water, water, everywhere! Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
4. Balance the pie chart. B-/C+, A, A, C-/D+
5. Fiber 25 g. 29, 32, 31, 25
6. Log everything. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
7. Take calcium. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes

Although I resisted the junk food (including the regional temptation of cookies with inch-thick chocolate icing), I'm really struggling to get in the protein, fiber, and healthy fats. It's a bit awkward when you visit someone else's home and they don't eat the way you do....

Quinn, zucchini bread is healthy... Just like carrot cake.

Cassie, cookies sound yummy right about now (as I'm on a recumbent bike at the gym)

Quinn. That sounds like a beautiful picture - all those wonderful colourful veggies spilling out of the bags, enjoy.

Mike - sounds like you hate treadmills, I have one in a little summerhouse in the garden and I actually used it once this week ( getting on it later again). I would just feel too self- conscious to go out walking around where I live.

Mary - story of my life - good days, bad days ( unfortunately in the past more bad ) now I'm trying to keep the good in the majority. Those peach tarts sound scrumptious, hope you have a freezerful now.

Goals progress going into weekend
1. Stay under 1200. Y Y Y Y
2. Get some exercise, anything will do to get me started. N N Y N
3. Drink more fluids ( not alcohol or soda) A LITTLE
4. Eat more protein. NOT REALLY
Other goals
1. Sort will STARTED TO PLAN
2. Book Vegas hotel TODAY
3. Clear out some clothes to charity shop. YES
4. Find some certificates I seem to have lost. NO SIGN
