Quinn. Yes physical therapist is pretty much the same although I believe that you train to be a PT or a respiratory therapist and rehab therapist while we train for all those roles and then usually specialise after a few years. Neurology was really hard, heavy work ( that's why I moved to a desk job when I got older) but very satisfying for most of the time.

Joanna. Have a great weekend in Chicago, my cousin used to live there and I regret never having visited her.

Well tonight is the start of the weekend and I have a feeling that it isn't going to be a good start as I'm out with my friend, but I'll try.
Off to work now, have a good day everyone.

Quinn, thanks for the high five. Yeah, I guess it's better to just be safe and stay calm than to yell or honk at someone who drives stupidly. Easier said than done, though.

Mike, it'll be good to have you back full force and kicking a$$.

Lizzie and Joanna, congrats on a job well done.

Joanna, enjoy Chicago and your visit with your friend!

Hi Everyone, I am back!!! The 3 hour drive in 94 degree heat at the height of the day in a car with with dicey ac (it s, it doesn't, it works, etc.) was worth it once I hit that water. I think you could actually hear a sizzling sound coming off my skin. Ironically, I missed my family, the very people I wanted to "escape." My friends' two teenage daughters were there and it was horribly reassuring to see that some of our issues with DD are not uncommon. I only gained a pound in 3 days which considering how my friends eat and drink isn't bad. They had so much food there you would have thought they were hunkering down for a long hard winter as opposed to a week at the beach. And of course I brought more!!!

It was hard to try to catch up with the posts but here's a bit of a response.

Terri, I am so sorry for your ordeal. I have often said I'm not sure which is worse, the "ailment" or the doctors and their treatment. But you sound like you are on top of things and that's how you have to be. Don't let `em make you crazy. All best; we are rooting for you!

Mike, your issues in your office when your brother left sounds like such an ordeal. I could just picture it too. I could see myself being in such a place, pulling the chair and taking the computer with me. All best in recovering. I also think it's so admirable what you are doing helping people with their policies. You deserve a Blizzard!!! JUST KIDDING!!!!!!! You deserve a hug!!!

Cassie, so sorry you are going through a hard time. My very best wishes to you HUGSSSS.Did you post a picture of your haircut? Didn't see it.

Quinn, fabulous reflections. You are in such an amazing place. I have such admiration. (maybe a little jealous since you sound like a fabulous Mom and such a wise person.)

Mary: I love your eating from the freezer idea and the exception you made.

Finally what the hell is the dancing banana?

May I add a few goals kinda late?

1) 1600 cal max
2) writing
3) meditation

I would say walking but it's gonna be 99 humid degrees today. Tomorrow, I am going to a memorial service and then a combo wedding vows renewal/surprise bd party in a church gym with no ac. Because I am such a wimp, I am letting DD go to the Warped Tour with her friends because she has been looking forward to it for months. Already she is trying to tell me it ends at midnight when online it says between 8 and 9. I told her midnight is her curfew. We are supposed to go on a family vacay at the end of next week: me, DH and unwilling hostage (aka DD.) I hope she doesn't do anything stoopid and punishment inducing before then.

All best to all!!!

Ashlie, great job, great goals!

Hope, so glad you enjoyed your vacation. Ugh, driving in that heat with a faulty AC! That part surely wasn't fun. Glad you got to experience that other DDs act similar to yours. I remember doing that when my DD was a teenager--something big and fun coming up and praying that she wouldn't do something to get herself grounded. Congrats on gaining only one pound! That's wonderful and that can come off quickly. You surely have a lot going on this weekend! Hope you enjoy yourself.

DH and I will be married 40 years this Sunday. (I think he deserves a medal for putting up with me all those years. ) Too hot to go anywhere. We plan just to go out for dinner--just the two of us.

Just checking in before I head out for dinner. We were taken out for lunch at work today, I couldn't believe it, after I decided not to eat so that I could save my cals. However, I had a chicken salad, starter size, while all around me the fries and burgers were being munched down, so I don't feel too bad.

Mern. Many congrats for Sunday. I never made it past 4 years never mind 40!!

I'll check in with my weekly progress tomorrow or Sunday.

Ashlie, love your attitude going into the weekend; I need to have it as well! It's often very quiet on the boards and being out of routine makes them sometimes hard for me.

Hope, I'm glad you had a good time. Sounds like you got some perspective and some fun all in one. I agree that the pound will be gone in no time.

Congrats on your anniversary, Mern! 40 years is very special. Go enjoy yourselves and cherish the fact that you have so much history together, with the future yet to come.

Lizzie, congrats on your lunch choice. It feels good, but a little weird, to be eating a salad in the midst of a sea of burgers and fries, but you did your body good!

Terri, sorry I never checked in with you yesterday; I meant to, and then things happened. I understand how frustrating it is to keep explaining to the doctors; a happy medium of interest-concern would be nice! At any rate, hope all is well and just remember to follow your gut and trust your instincts.

Sounds like everyone did great yesterday; well done !

I attended a continuing ed seminar today on obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Most of it was information we all know, but there were definitely some new wrinkles and things to reflect upon.

As I'm sorely behind, here's my check in from Thursday :

1. Stay under 1300 calories. Nope, but 2 unplanned restaurant meals; I'm definitely over. WAY over, 1288, 1268, 1298
2. Drink 64 oz. water daily. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
3. 25 grams fiber daily. Yes, 31, 29, 29
4. Exercise 7 times this week (3 runs). Stationary bike, Cardio Tennis AM & treadmill run PM, Cardio Tennis, Treadmill run
5. 5 fruits and veggies daily. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes

6. Get hair cut off! ZOMG it's all gone Having our fam pics done on vacation next week and will post pics soon
7. Get basement closet cleaned out. Almost done!
8. Get second opinion from orthodontist. Yes, and it was MUCH better news. I knew something wasn't right!

Hope,

Are you serious? Sheesh, the dancing banana is just the bestest emoticon ever! Cassie would probably call it an epic win!

The dancing banana can dance circles around the dancing pickle. Just watch.

The only one that can sport moves even close to the dancing banana is this guy.

But you have to admit that there is something special about seeing a banana dancing with a smile from ear to ear.

BTW nobody can do the ice cream and cake dance quite like the banana!
