*Wednesday*
Food and Fitness: 1. 1200 calories/day average. Not going to even try to figure out. 880- can't eat when it's this hot. 1075. 2. Walk two miles per day minimum, weather permitting. 1 mile. (back issue) 2 miles. 1 mile. (Weather not permitting.) 3. LOG EVERYTHING! No. Yes. Yes. 4. Take multivitamin, flax and vitamin E daily. Yes. Yes. Yes. Personal Stuff: Be patient with our new family schedule with daughter home for summer break. Be flexible. Remember that the house isn't going to stay picked up and perfect... it just isn't. (What's the saying... "It is what it is"? ) Yes. It irritated me today, but I kept my mouth shut. Yes. |
Checking in:
1. Calories 1200-1300. 1201, 1255, 1489 2. Exercise 6 times. Nope-planned night off, Tennis, Cardio Tennis & a run 3. Sleep 7 hours a night. 6.5, 7! 7! 4. Weigh in daily. Yes, Yes, Yes 5. Smile more, bitch less Halfway, Yes (even at the dentist!), Yes Well, I blew my calories today but fortunately I'm still below what I burned. I had a light dinner tonight, broiled fish, a sweet potato, and a salad. Then I went to cardio tennis for an hour and my son wasn't due to finish drills for another half hour...so I ran a mile and a half around the park and came home ready to eat the house down ! In retrospect, that probably wasn't one of my better ideas. I was able to put the brakes on and I'm working on telling myself I needed it and not beating myself up for lack of self control :o. Live and learn *sigh* |
Didn't get my walk in tonight as our weather is, once again, being unpredictable. Our high today of 93 is being replaced with a high of 56 being forecast for Friday. Like I said, if you don't like the weather here, wait an hour. (At least my swollen fingers and "cankles" should disappear. LOL) I haven't been able to get my rings off in 2 days.
I did something kind of interesting this week. I had some yogurt that was nearing its expiration date, and I didn't want to waste it, so I froze the individual containers. I took one out today, when it was so hot, and it was actually pretty good! It wasn't like yogurt or ice cream, but it was refreshing, low-cal and healthy. I've thrown out quite a bit of yogurt during the past year, so I'm glad to know that I can do this. I may experiment with different brands and see what happens. It's not as good as the frozen yogurt that you get at shops, but it's not as many calories, either. Mike, Loved the cartoon... is that you in the picture? ;) Glad to see that you can laugh... even just a little. Whirlpools help me a lot, too, although I don't really have access to one very often. Did you have to pay for several months on your membership or are you able to do it monthly? I know you love to be really active... It's frustrating as heck, I know. Hang tight... it gets better. :) Good night, all... I'm taking my "cankles" to bed now. :D |

quinn: Thanks! I feel like things are coming very quickly and it's all I can do to keep up!! As for the water question - you'd be surprised how much energy your body spends compensating all the time for the things we do to it... even though you're sweating, you're trying to hold water, AND you're swelling up with all of the blood rushing to your extremeties to try and keep your core cool. Double whammy.
canary: HOLY cow, I wish my Mom made up raps!! I second showing it to them, that's awesome!! I'm sure your DD will make it all work out for a nice summer romance, if nothing else! And thanks for the congrats - I don't know about accomplished, I'm just hoping opportunities pan out, but it's a lovely compliment :) wowgirl: Sometimes there are just days where you stay the course -- I actually feel even more proud of myself on those days because you are DOING IT even without a motivational high, so you should be really proud of yourself! Good for you! Mike: LOL at that comic!!! I love it, not too risque! You have to find the humor in anything. I hope they get that hot tub up and running for you soon! xcurlygirlx: Way to stay on track, kudos! Main80: Get that report done, lady! ;) Rooting for you! Can't wait to see your report where you kick butt! Cassie: Holy crap, an hour of tennis in this heat, I'm in awe of you. And hey, you put the brakes on - stopping is harder once you stop, great willpower on that! I'm sure you certainly did need something after all of that, and it's not like you went and ate a triple-chocolate-fudge sundae. I'd say it's a win! T: yes W-Sun: N/A 2) Work on Powerpoint presentation; finished by Friday M: a little T: no W: No, I really need to do this 3) Finish laundry M: no T: good chunk W: no 4) Buy green things for the apartment M: no T: no W: no Proud of myself for getting in all my water in yesterday - the day was just a little wonky from start to finish, a lot of schedules being pushed later-than-normal because of my interview. Had late lunch, late dinner, etc. I also didn't get to the 30DS until about 11:00 at night. Didn't want to work out, but I DID it! It was my own fault though - I'm a pretty gigantic sports fan (You grow up near Boston, it happens...) and the Red Sox were playing the Yankees last night AND the Bruins are in the Stanley Cup finals. BOTH games were on last night, so I HAD to watch! :D It was a great day for Boston sports - The Bruins owned the Canucks to tie the series 2-2, and the Red Sox beat the Yankees! Yay! Also finally got up the guts to put my picture in the Before-During-After thread -- I had needed to take pictures because the newspaper wants one, and I wasn't about to send in a "fat" picture!! ;) So I needed new headshots, and I asked BF (who was the photographer) to get a full-body one, since my hair was working (for once in this Florida humidity...) and I was wearing non-baggy clothes. Thanks to everyone who posted for all the very kind comments. I've been blushing all morning. I know there is going to be pizza today - steeling myself for just ONE slice. ONE. And no taking other people's crusts!! Happy Thursday! ~Terri |
