Molly, your story sounded very scary, but I am so happy you and your friend were there to find him and get him help.

jjeand, congrats on the breakup!! :) you're freeeeee.

rose, enjoy THE city and spending time with your mom. it looks like you'll get some nice weather. :)

congrats Mern on the weightloss! fantastic job!!!

today was good in the sense that my cals are pretty low, and my ratios are good, but i ate 22 sour gummy candies. 12 of them are 110 cals. i also didn't exercise. i went to bed really late bc i couldn't put down "the glass castle." such a great book! i have 30 pages left that i have saved for tonight.

good night everyone!

This week I will need to set goals to carry me till April 8th as I leave on holidays Thur. I'm still working on my fitness plan. I have managed to log onto fitday.com from my blackberry but it is a pain. I want to journal each day so I don't mess up my stats as well as for control. I do plan on getting lots of exercise.

I overate 2000 extra calories Sat and have not been hungry the last two days -- happy with 1250 calories instead of 1550.

Goal to lose 1 more pound by Thur -- my last day on a scales for 8 days; then to at least not gain when away.

Mary

Acameron – wow, you’re seriously busy this week, aren’t you? I do hope you find time to squish everything in and get your papers handed in and fly through your exams, too! Good luck with not ordering out!

Terri – holy dooley! That must have really hurt, your poor man. And I know embroidery needles have bigger eyeholes than sewing needles, too . . . ouch! It’s insane that you guys don’t have a free public healthcare system in America.
Oh, and I got that certain email, then sent out another certain email, so it’s all done. :D
And well done on coming to peaceful terms with your scale! Hehe.
Smoothie recipe – we throw some low-fat yoghurt in with a bit of skim milk, add half a banana per person and some tinned or frozen berries along with the protein powder and a handful of ice. We had vanilla flavoured soy powder last time, and it tasted kind of like malted milk. My partner wanted chocolate this time and he got a huge tub of it (sigh) and it was really quite gross and grainy. We are getting unflavoured whey protein next (has been ordered), so hopefully the smoothies will start tasting good again. It’s a bit of a boring recipe, but it works.

Lindsey – sorry about not being accepted at your audition. Is there another squad you can try out for?

Mern – half a pound! Woo! Go you!

JJ – Good on you. And haha-almeeker. Yep, that’s the way to go. Get yourself done over in some small way to mark the new chapter.

Cassie – well done on your productive weekend! I love weekends like that – at the end of it, you feel like you’ve actually accomplished more than being able to critique crappy movies. :D

Rhoda – Happy Birthday for yesterday! Are you a new auntie yet? Did you have an amazing time with your kids?

Sandi – haha! But no! Don’t go back to your lollies!

Bubbs – well done on the elliptical! And yay for the coffee to tea substitution!

The weather is lovely and rainy, the clouds are delectably gloomy, I did my plyo before I took my son to school (oh, and I didn’t touch the pause button, everyone. Not once. Yeah! Grrr!) and the whole area around my house is deafeningly silent. I love these days. I also lost 800g, which is 1.7lbs (after my 700g gain last week) which may possibly be the cause of my deliriously giddy mood today, as I have officially passed my 150lb mini goal. Who rocks? Yeah, I rock.

Thanks Cassie. The little guy is improving a little every day. He has several bite wounds on his head, one major one that is taking its time to heal and an injured eye. His inner eyelid was torn, it was so gruesome but I have been faithfully putting drops in his eyes every 8 hours and disinfecting the wound and giving him his antibiotics. His spirits are definitely high now. He is almost back to his jaunty little self but he does hate his cone with a vengeance. He keeps trying to get it off. The little bugger! I'm just so happy that he is going to make a full recovery. I do love that little guy!

Thanks Julia! I am really looking forward to being in NYC tomorrow. I can't wait!!! :)

Well, today was sort of an exception. Still feeling under the weather, and besides making a big pot of chicken vegetable soup, my food's consisted of mostly yogurt and bread I made over the weekend. Hopefully tommorow I'll feel better and can get back on track.

Nice job so far this week, all who have reported in...:)

Thanks ladies (and Mike) now all I can think about is jelly beans Hahaha. I found ones that look like the old fashion but are actually sour when you bite needless to say that bad didn’t last. I’m a sucker for gummy candies.
Smoothies- I can’t tolerate milk early in the morning and I hate the GMO-soy groups that are available now so I usually mix frozen fruit, water and a bit or juice together with flax seed oil (helps thicken and gets the omegas).
Terri- Glad you got him all patched up, hopefully your guy will be extra careful at the shop and wear an extra set of latex or rubber gloves.
Lindsey- hope you hear back with your dance background take it as an extra push for a better opportunity.
Mary- have a great trip!
Behaze- That’s awesome congrats on the mini goal and way to not touch the pause!
Rose- So glad to hear he is doing better!

One final is done and an essay! Feeling pretty good right now tried on a pair of pants that I bought before I did my knee in and haven't been able to get into them since. Well today I am rocking the pants and if I do say so they look even better that before :D

I miss crawfish! I was from Slidell too before I came to Turkey a few years ago. Moved there after Katrina from Metairie and lived off of Queensbury then Frontage road. =D Loved it there!

quinnesec 03-29-2011 12:48 AM

I like the idea of "Back To Basics" as well. So, here's this weeks list:

* Forget the pie chart for one week and keep calories to a "clean" 1400 or less. Way under... no time to eat much yesterday.
* Hike (heavy pack) twice this week. Probably Wednesday.
* Spring's here... resume daily neighborhood walks. Again, sadly, no time.
* 100 oz. of water daily, minimum. Yes.

* Stop buying jelly beans already!!! Geesh! So far, so good.
* Clean two more closets. Probably Wednesday.
* Keep on top of applications and deadlines. 4.5 hours of paperwork yesterday... ugh.
* Smile more... bitch less. (Does "nagging" your children count as bitching?)

IDK, nagging is my own mother's preferred way of speaking to me, so I prefer to think of "nagging" as a sign of affection. If we go with that definition than I've shown my kiddos plenty of affection today .

I'm the type that has to have everything completed far before a deadline and daughter's the type that thrives on waiting until the very last possible second. No room for error, with her method. She always seems to make it, but it drives me insane!

Yeah I love crawfish, too bad they are so expensive now. After easter the price should drop though. Slidell is a nice place but I kinda want to get away. What brought you to Turkey?

I'm with you. We refer to our son as "Captain Pull-It-Out-of-His-Rear" because in some charmed way, even though he waits till the very last minute, it always comes out great. How I am supposed to teach a life lesson with no natural consequences on this is beyond me.

That's exactly what I'm dealing with with this one.

My oldest never brought a book home in high school, but always remained on the Honor Roll. His junior year, he brought no books home to study for finals. I was so livid that I grounded him until he could show me his test scores. After 2 weeks of sitting home every night, he dropped four A-'s and a B+ in my lap for some pretty high level classes. He looked at me and asked, "Can I go now?" I'm with you. No teachable moment... no consequences.

(Of course he got his butt kicked in college, but that's another story...:D)

01gt4.6 03-29-2011 03:01 AM

Terri, that story made me cringe. I had something similar happen a few years back, it sucked.
Quinn, I like the smile more bitch less attitude.
Rose, she’s doing fine, how’s your baby doing? I had company over and Chloe’ seems to think she’s a lap dog. It’s funny to see her sit up on someone. Poor thing acts like she’s starved for attention.
Cassie, Chloe’ is doing well, thanks.
Almeeker, congrats on the -833 cals! I had some rice cakes yesterday too, yummy.
Jacqueline, good job on the green tea and water.

01gt4.6 03-29-2011 03:21 AM

Well… I sort of had a situation, well maybe not a situation but felt uncomfortable.
(I’m sorry if this offends anyone)

I logged into my YouTube account and noticed that I had a comment on one of my videos, so I clicked on it to check it out. It was a simple “marry me”. I thought that it was odd b/c I don’t usually get strange or flirtatious comments, usually just support. So my next thought was to click on the user name and check this person out. Well it turns out that this person is a guy. Needless to say I felt very awkward. Usually when I get a friend request, I don’t accept if it’s from guy and his YT page looks to be one where he’s more interested in seeing shirtless guys than weight loss, if you know what I mean. So this isn’t a “friend”, just a random comment. So I deleted the comment and blocked the user. What someone does in their personal life is their business but the thought of some guy “enjoying” my video disturbed me. That may not have been the case but to think it could have been was too much for me. Am I overreacting?

taubele 03-29-2011 03:33 AM

Aww, thanks for the smoothie ideas everyone! I will use them. I'm so helpless, haha, but adding fruit/fro-yo/etc. will probably be all I need. I think I'll start with banana, it usually never lets me down! Oooh, or strawberries...

jj: Hope your personal life settles down soon and you can just take a big 'ol breath and smile :)

Molly: I don't know HOW I missed your story about the cyclist, but way to go! I'm glad he was okay. You guys did the perfectly right thing just staying with him!

Rose: I hope you have a GREAT vacation with your Mom. There will be no meteors, it is forbidden!!! You had a rough week, karma needs to catch up and be kind, and it'll start soon I think. If you're feeling like having a goofy/fun time at a (unfortunately expensive) restaurant, might I recommend a place called "Ninja"? Look them up! They're awesome! Also, I'm so glad your little man is feeling better. Bringing him with you to NY?

Cassie: I hope you're feeling better soon!

Sandi: He had a tetanus shot about 6 years ago - they last ten years, right? >.> Now I shall be on the prowl for lockjaw! And thanks for the smoothie ideas!! I can't even IMAGINE jaws wired shut, goodness...

behaze: Healthcare is such a fun issue in America I won't even get into it, lol. Suffice it to say that I think we got off lucky, since we could pull it out ourselves. You TOTALLY ROCK!!! Way to go on the Pylo!

Mike: That's a difficult situation. Discomfort is discomfort, and your video wasn't meant in a sexual way. If a guy is enjoying it in that way, you're correct, it is his business. I don't think the comment was necessarily inflammatory, but it probably was a little inappropriate simply because your video is about your weight loss, not about your sexual nature (at least I assume? ;) ). If it were me, I think I would have just ignored it, but I don't think deleting it is bad.

Weekly Goals:

Fitness, Exercise and Lifestyle Goals:
1) Under 1400 calories, track everything M: yes, 1,355
2) Average 30% protein for the week M: 17% (weekly average: 17%)
3) 96 oz. water daily M: yes
4) 5 hours of exercise, split between weights and hard cardio M: day off
5) Use heart rate monitor each workout this week M: N/A
6) Use new protein powder in a shake after each workout (though the taste is blergh. I need a smoothie recipe!): M: N/A

Non-Fitness Goals:
1) One hour of needlework every night M: not quite an hour, but close
2) Rework 2 original chapters for book by Wednesday M: DONE! Go me!
3) Focus on extra work coming, do whatever hours are necessary this week/weekend M: N/A
4) Buy a couple of small plants for the apartment, the place needs some green! M: N/A

Mmmm...Jelly beans...Jelly Belly jelly beans brings back FOND memories.

And thanks everyone for your concern over BF. <3 He did keep gauze on it and wore a latex glove under his work gloves, and I checked it at home and it looked ok -- I'm not an M.D. or a nurse, though I have taken emergency first aid classes. So...that makes me like 10% qualified, right? >.>

His finger is a little swollen (as to be expected) and as he says "deep-sore", but there's no suspect over-redness nor any puss or overt signs of infection in the wound on either side. It was a clean through-and-through at the very least. He's got the day off today, so I hope he just keeps it covered and doesn't suddenly think he's "better" now since he managed 24 hours, haha.

Yesterday was WAY too low on protein. I'm a bit disappointed in myself, but I had a very stressful afternoon. I just can try to do better today and tomorrow :) and get my workout/protein powder in with all these lovely recipes!!!

Have a good Tuesday!

~Terri

It was a chinup challenge that I was doing. I did have my shirt off, but nothing that I'd consider sexual in any way.

Terri, glad the finger is on the mend. No offense to your guy, but I'm glad something didn't happen to YOU for a change ;).

Mike, sounds like you handled your YouTube issue appropriately. There's no telling what the dude meant. People are strange sometimes. I can tell you from firsthand experience that there are a bunch of teenage boys on YouTube and I am certain stupid comments and "I dare you" comments abound. Maybe this guy never grew up, who knows?

It's not overreacting if it makes you feel comfortable and doesn't hurt anyone else, IMO.

staceyalberta 03-29-2011 04:28 AM

mike ~ your chinup cahallenge sounds exhausing. i'd be a little uncomfortable with the comment too so i don't blame you for deleting it.

In that case, the comment was at best immature/irrelevant and at worst inappropriate. In my mind, overreacting would have been saying something to him and/or getting angry about it. Ignoring/deleting? Not so much. Don't worry yourself over it :D

Cassie: Haha! Me too! I'm such a klutz. But I'm injury-free for the moment :D Thanks.

jj: Good call on exBF. Calling in the middle of the night when you have a kid about a CD? Pffffffft. Drunk is no excuse. He can find his own darned CD.

I have trouble with cals/protein too. Fish is usually good for this for me, especially something like tilapia or tuna. Lentils and beans (legumes) are good for this too, though watch out for sodium with canned beans. Good luck!

almeeker 03-29-2011 05:06 AM

Molly, I've been at the scene of dozens of accidents (my mom is a nurse, so she's quick to slam on the breaks and stop in the middle of the road to do her thing). I can tell you from experience that you did exactly the right thing. Have you taken First Aide or ALS (Advanced Life Safety)? If not you might want to check into taking some of those classes. I've been taking them since I was 16 or so and I always learn something new when I go and get my re-certification. I think you're a natural in the event of an emergency.

Mike that is uncomfortable and I think you did the right thing with the delete and block reaction, at the very least your response was loud and clear. There are some real weirdos out there. If it had to happen at least it was on-line and not via stalker down the street. BTW I don't think there is anything about your video that invites that sort of reaction, you seem pretty darn straight to me and I have excellent gay-dar. A proposal of marriage from a complete stranger and weird man to boot, is not the end of the world, happens to me all the time.

Cassie and Quinn, I rarely disagree with you two, but I have to back the "Pull-it-out-of-thin-air" club this time. I'm a lifelong member and really when it comes right down to it, I did not turn out all that bad. Some people just perform better (much much better) with a little pressure (or even a lot), and cannot (or won't be bothered to) perform with out it. BTW a nagging mother does not really create the same sort of pressure as a real deadline. That's all I'm saying on the subject.

jjeand, good for you on ignoring him, let him find his own damn music. It's probably just a ploy to get your attention anyway. As far as I can tell this "healthy diet" business isn't easy, but it does get easier. Some of my quick go-to foods are Greek yogurt, broccoli, tuna, boiled eggs, ff cottage cheese, low cal bread, apples, oranges, Laughing Cow cheese wedges and sugar-free pudding cups.

terri, good luck on your smoothie adventures. We have chocolate and vanilla protein powder in our house, both are whey, and I find the vanilla easier to experiment with. Although yesterday I bought some Nutella on sale and I'm thinking a little of that blended with the chocolate could be a really short drive to "taste bud heaven" right here on earth. Glad to hear the BF's finger hasn't gotten infected. To be on the safe side I would have him soak it in warm soapy water (or with Epsom salt) a couple of times this week.

Well I gotta go, in spite of the fact that I waved a magic wand at the dirty laundry, it refuses to get up and jump in the washing machine on it's own. And now the timer is screaming at me.

staceyalberta 03-29-2011 05:06 AM

agrees with taubele jjean let him find his own cd.

Mern 03-29-2011 07:21 AM

Well, I just had time to skim the rest of the posts, so besides the individuals addressed below, I congratulate everyone doing well and send big hugs to those who are struggling.

Crimpet, on the drink to speed up metabolism that came out horribly yucky, I put the cucumber, skin and all, in the food processor and whirred it until it was almost liquid. Maybe I should have peeled it, but I thought with the skin it might add some nutrition. Any solids still in there fell to the bottom of the pitcher and I just left them there--maybe straining that out would have helped, but I doubt it. I forgot besides lemon and ginger, it also had spearmint. I didn't find it refreshing at all. YUCK! LOL I looked for the recipe but don't still have it and don't remember where I got it--seems like it was in a magazine.

Cassie, wow, amazing that you cooked a pot of soup while feeling bad yourself. How's the rest of the family feeling?

Terri, sorry to read about BF's accident. Sounds awfully painful and I do hope he can keep it clean. Congrats on the weight loss--that's a nice showing since 3/9!!!

Rhoda, belated happy birthday wishes! :)

Almeeker, I was sitting here with a spring allergy headache and cracked up when I read your post to jjeand to go out and buy new panties for her new start without bf. LOL

Jjeand--so many of us have been there, best wishes and a big hug to ya.

Rose so sorry 'bout your sinus cold. Is it from allergies? My tree pollen allergy just gives me continual sinus headaches that go away only when I'm sleeping and it hurts just to walk across the room--so I haven't been exercising, either. Congrats on gaining only one pound from the extra carb intake. Thanks for your congrats on my teeny little loss. :) So glad your dog is doing better. And, golly--have fun in New York!

Sandi, your post about being behind cracked me up. It's so hard to keep up with this super-active thread. But we don't mind backtracking about the smoothies--we're always interested in what each other has to say. :)

Oh, wow, all the jelly bean talk. I'll have to look for some sugar free ones. I love the old fashioned kind that the Easter Bunny left in my basked when I was a kid.

Almeeker, I was really bad at Halloween when my kids were little--so many candies, like taffy and Sweet Tarts in their bags that I HAD to eat myself because I was afraid they'd choke. Mothers who eat their kids candy are doing them a great service, saving them from unnecessary carbs, calories, and sugar rushes. Eat that candy yourself and give the kids broccoli! LOL

Jacqueline, great Monday report, especially with all that exerise and the 1000 calorie deficit. Way to go!

Julia, hi! Thanks for your encouragement on my teeny weight loss. I worked for it, so I'll take what I can get. LOL Congrats to YOU for low calories even with the candy. Glad you're enjoying your book. :)

Mary, that worked out well that you weren't all that hungry after overeating Saturday. Sounds like your body is accustomed to adjusting.

Behaze, congrats on your loss and exercise.

Argh, still no "real" reply from this team giving feedback...the only response I have received is "I'm so glad you contacted me! It shows such a great attitude! We'll get back to you with feedback!"...and...nothing so far. Sigh, unfortunately, there isn't another team in the area really...there is a "dance" team that supports the semi-pro lacrosse team...but I don't really buy into the image that they like...ie: chaps + underwear as costumes, and general gyrating rather than dancing :S

This week's Goals:

1) Keep calories under 1400 M 1,176

2) Exercise 30 minutes minimum/5 days M yes

4) Keep carbs down - 170 g/day or 130%, according to my fitday meter
M: close, 178.6 g

5) Start bi-weekly (Weds/Sun) weigh-ins on Wii-Fit: it's more accurate than my bathroom scale. Sun: yes Mon: no

Non-Fitness Goals:

1) Clean kitchen M: uh...does dishes in the dishwasher count?!
2) Put away clean laundry, and tidy closet and master bathroom
M: definitely no. My response at 11pm to a bed covered in clean laundry? "ugh. I'm not dealing with this now! Tomorrow."
3) Prep guest bedroom and bathroom for visitors on Friday M: guest sheets washed...and then the stinky dog decided they made a good blanket and laid on them all night...so net progress = 0

thanks everyone for the support. As mentioned I tried to take it as a compliment, but... I have hard time with it. I don't take compliments well from females let alone a guy.:o

Lindsey, I can agree, chaps and underwear don't make it a costume. I mean really? What about shoes? Heck a fair trade would be the chaps for shoes, maybe. You probably don't know my sense of humor, I'M JUST KIDDING.:D

cjohnson728 03-29-2011 08:36 AM

Yes! Dishes in the dishwasher count! Full credit, too :D

Mern, I am paying for cheating on the soup. I used prepared chicken stock instead, and I think the salt in it has me bloated up today. But it is still good for what ails us. I had a stomach thing going on; the boys have sinus infections. Fun times. My son is braving it better than my husband.

Almeeker, I hear what you're saying. There are times when flying by the seat of your pants is appropriate, but IMO not all the time. Like when you have a language arts teacher who is super detail oriented, gives exams college kids would have trouble with, and sees it as her personal mission to teach her classes responsibility.

Not that I have an issue with that ;).

But I agree, last minute efforts usually DO produce more creativity and problem-solving skills than planned efforts, and those are valuable skills to have. In an ideal world, I'd prefer a little of both; just more tricks to pull out of your bag when you need them.

Crimpet 03-29-2011 08:53 AM

Yeah I love crawfish, too bad they are so expensive now. After easter the price should drop though. Slidell is a nice place but I kinda want to get away. What brought you to Turkey?
I know what you mean about wanting to get away. That happens. I miss it when I'm away, but when I'm there I hate it lol I came to Turkey for my husband. We're trying to get his visa to bring him to the USA, but it's been a rediculous process so I've been here for 2 years. We plan on moving up north when we do come back, but I want to show him the south at least once. He's never experienced the likes of Louisiana Humid Heat lol

Mern, Thank you for letting me know. I actually juice my cucumber with the skins in the juicer, and it's much better than processed in a processor. It does take some adjusting for its taste as I said before but I developed a taste for it, and really like it now ^_^ So, I'll give the recipe a shot!

staceyalberta 03-29-2011 08:59 AM

so far having a good day. tonight however is busy my son has basketball practice & then after that i have dance class. okay that doesn't sound busy but i have an hour from when i'm off work to grab food & get my son to practice...lol.

Mern 03-29-2011 10:05 AM

Lindsey, maybe you'll get that feedback soon. Great job on your calories and exercise Monday!

Mike, good that you could block your too friendly YouTube admirer. It may just have been a comment made as a joke. But it's behind you now, so you can let it go and file it under odd experiences.

Cassie, I'm glad you enjoyed the soup despite the sodium. You know how that goes-- drink extra water to wash it through. I hope you're feeling better. Aw, that's cute that your son is braving it better than your husband. Sinus infections can be so darned painful. My husband is just unbearable when he's sick--even just with a cold. He literally drove me to tears one time. No sooner than I would get downstairs, he'd be moaning for something else. I know he felt bad, but I don't feel well I want to be left alone and rest. When he's sick he wants to be waited on hand and foot.

Crimpet, I don't have a juicer. But I do EAT a lot of cucumbers.

Stacey, basketball practice for your son and dance class for you after work in the same night DOES sound busy. Hope you have/had a good evening.

staceyalberta 03-29-2011 10:12 AM

mern ~ yeah i guess it's busy...lol...just not sure what i can eat that quickly....lol

blackrhino2 03-29-2011 10:22 AM

hi guys,
hope your days have been pretty good minus colds and whatnot.

i'm in data-crazed mode and i'm staying late at school. i'll prob still be here a while, needless to say i missed WW. i'm still hoping to stay on track and eat very healthfully. using fitday and journaling will help me stay focused.

i want to workout tonight but I'm not sure that will happen...maybe I will wake up early in the AM?

that test I took before spring break was really bad, so bad that no one in the class did well and we ALL have to retake it. :( i'm hoping tonight i can start re-studying. gah.

Tuesday Report

I have to admit it was difficult to get up the motivation to workout tonight. In the end I am so glad I did. Although it was only the balance ball routine for 50 min. I found incredible improvement in my flexibility, my core strength and form.

I usually workout in the mornings...but since granny has moved in with us, we are sleeping in the lower level. It is much darker and as a result so hard to get up in the mornings. I am trying to do my workouts in the evening (not something I have been successful with in the past). So far so good.

Goals for the week:
  • 1000 daily calorie deficit yes, yes
  • Elliptical 3-4X per week yes, no
  • Balance ball stretching no, yes
  • Read a book started
  • Limit coffee to one cup per day yes, yes
Here's looking forward to a great tomorrow.... ;)

Mike – I think we’re all in agreement here. If it made you feel uncomfortable, you had a right to delete the comment and block the user. And I completely agree with Terri – deleting it was a non-aggressive way to show you didn’t appreciate the comment.

JJ – A phonecall in the middle of the night from an ex is always ignore-worthy. I’m jumping on this band-wagon, too and saying I’m sure he can find his own music. The internet is a stellar place to find rare objects, and Google is very easy to use.

Mern – thinking of the Easter Bunny, ours is coming around with Lego in place of chocolate this year . . . okay maybe one egg. You got jelly beans for Easter? That’s both odd and cool. Yum!

Lindsey – at least they like your enthusiasm. That’s a bonus!

Julia – that sucks about having to re-take the test. I hope you find some time to get some exercise in!

Jacqueline – at least you did a bit, so good for you. I have difficulty doing exercise in the afternoon or evening, too.

Terri – glad your boyfriend’s hand isn’t all infected. When I was about 7 months pregnant, I stood on a mosquito coil holder (you know, they’re a metal stand and the tip is a blunt round that pierces the middle of the coil) – just under an inch of it went into the arch of my foot. There was a lot of blood and a lot of expletives. Thank god we have free healthcare, because I went straight to hospital, got anaesthetic, a tetanus shot and the doc cleared it out with alcohol (apparently there were still lots of shards of metal in there as well as ash from the extinguished coil) and then stitched it up (3 stitches). If it had been about 3mm to the right, it would have torn the tendon in my foot. We don’t use coil holders anymore. I will not allow them in my house. Hehe. Is your boyfriend allowing embroidery needles in the house, now? :D

Feeling a little bit worn out today. My exercise is done though, thankfully, so I think I might go do something entirely unproductive and what some may call time-wasting. Bugger the washing. It’s not going anywhere.
