Hi Dee, I weigh in on Thursday, tomorrow, I guess the transatlantic thing messes with which day we are talking about lol. It's Thursday because it gives me a chance to pull back up if I have a bad weekend and if it's good it's supposed to keep me on track over the next weekend. Complicated I know and not sure if it works anyway. Today has been ok and I even turned down one of my favourite pastries when I called in to see my mum. It's St Patrick's day tomorrow 17th and I'm off out with friends, so I don't think it will be one of my best days but I'll try to keep the damage to the minimum.

It's today or maybe tomorrow, depends where you are, but whatever it is it's weigh in day. Fanfare please - I'm down to 165. That's a total of 9 lbs since around 11 Jan, 1lb per week, not earth shattering but we're going in the right direction. Maybe with my re- adjusted calorie budget it will drop a little quicker, although I'm not complaining. One disappointment is that my present mini goal was 162 for next Thurs as I'm off to visit my partner, just got to keep going and hoping. So to all of you fellow diet travellers
HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY |
Happy St. Paddy's day Lizzie and congrats on the loss, you are doing great and only a couple of pounds from your mini goal, if you behave yourself this weekend and keep away from any green beverages today you should be able to do it. I just got home from work and have to stay up to get my son to the Arena, he is refereeing 5 games today. I am super tired after working last night, but there is only one night to go. Have a good day, I will do my journal post when I wake up if I have time before work.

Ok so I had a good Thursday in a social context but dreadful in other ways. Didn't go mad on the food only had a light breakfast and tapas for late lunch/ early dinner, then a small snack later, but we drowned the shamrock as they say. I was also pleased that when the tapas were shared out i did not take any of the chilli chips. Today I've been super good.
Yesterday I had a free make- up treatment in one of our large stores, now I have never been one to wear make up except on very special evenings out so this was a little frightening for me. I was worried that I would feel as though I had a mask on but the girl understood my need to look as natural as possible and she did a great job. Usually I am the dowdy, fat friend but yesterday evening I actually looked good, problem was I took it all off when I came home and this morning I was horrified at how I looked with a naked face so now I'm going to have to start putting my face on before I go out. I suppose having got away with not bothering for many many years I can't complain. As my weight starts to go down my interest in my appearance seems to be growing. |
I have found that the 2-4 minutes it takes to put on makeup is well worth it. I didn't start using it daily till I was about 60. Now it is a habit and I rarely go out without it. That followed a makeover where I realized how easy it was to do! Make the most of your new look. Mary

Lizzie I never leave the house without makup, even at pushing 50 I haven't gotten past the puberty acne, only when my monthly visitor is coming but still need to hide it. I even start each night before work with my face on, by the end of the night I look like I was run over by a Mac truck, but at least I start the day/night looking my best.

Grrrrrr I just finished typing a reply to you and when I went to post it disappeared so I will sumerize what I said again.
You may not consider yourself elegant, but if you read my latest post you will see I got a shock yesterday when someone said I was skinny, not a word I would ever have used to discribe myself. I would love to have a professional show me how to put on makeup so it doesn't look like I am wearing any, even though I was a tomboy growing up (and still to this day) I always wear makeup. I was never one of the pretty girls so I had to make the best of what god gave me. Have a great day Lizzie |
Went out again today to a Festival of Colours, it's an Indian spring festival and ends with everyone throwing coloured powder over each other to unify them. I went because the girl who teaches my Bollywood class was performing with her troupe and they were excellent, so were all the other dancers and performers. Everyone had a great time. Of course being the weak willed individual that I am, I allowed my friend to buy me a red velvet cupcake to go with my coffee. I had all my calories planned out for the day but a free samosa and a pakora added on loads so I am ashamed to say that after dinner with my son my count stood at around 1800 today, disgusting as I had been really good fri and sat, usually two of my worst days. However Monday is the start of another week and I must be stronger, how pathetic am I?

Forgot to say that I put my makeup on before I went out today, that's probably more times in the past week than in the last few years, especially during the hours of daylight.
