Leg Pain
I am trying to figure out what is causing pain in my legs. My legs are the only part of my body that has good muscle tone. Yet I randomly while walking or using exercise equipment experience debilitating pain. This occurs usually within 3 - 5 minutes after I begin. It comes on suddenly and feels like my legs are burning to the point where I actually have to stop whatever I am doing.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I've been to the dr. and they haven't been able to help me so far. |
My buddy had the something similar and it turned out he pinched a nerve in his back that traveled to his leg. A Chiropractor fixed him up. Also since doctors couldn't find anything I would assume no cardiovascular problems?

Is it in both legs or just one? I experienced something like that and was told it was ITBS- illiotibial band syndrome. Not sure if that's what's bothering you but it's common in people that run, or if you start running and try to go too hard or too fast too soon. I would experience a sharp shooting pain down my right leg and still get it when sitting in certain positions. It never hurt when I ran, just sitting in certain positions or when I went from sitting (especially in a lower car) to standing. Just a thought...

I get really sharp leg pains from time to time. The best help for me has been to make sure that I really stretch out before and after my work out and when it's really bad I eat prepared yellow mustard, about a tablespoon, sometime I put it on something like turkey or tuna. I don't know why the yellow mustard helps, but it does. A good friend of mine is totally into natural cures for everything and one day I was on the phone with her and got a leg cramp and over the phone she said "you need mustard". The other thing that it could be is dehydration, are you getting enough to drink?

Is the pain below the knees?
Could be shin splints if it is - lots of random cures out there but ice after exercise is a good way to start and see if that helps |
I was having burning in the large muscles when I was very anemic. Also, low on Vit. D. Be sure and take a good multivitamin, plus perhaps extra D and B-complex and drink plenty of water too.
