Hello, I have 92 lbs to lose!!!! So I am more than willing to be there for you!!! It is not easy!!! I have 3 kids, 20 year old son who still lives at home, 15 year old daughter, who takes after her father and is SUPER THIN and an 11 year old daughter with Down's Syndrome, though very high functioning, she has her mother's eating habits and is rather heavy. I want both her and I to get healthy!!
We can do this and God speed to you all in our venture of losing weight and getting fit!!!:o |
Welcome ladies!
Sorry for feeling sorry for myself...I'm just not feeling well today. Normally I am upbeat...just tired I guess. Good luck...I gained a lb since yesterday but I suspect it is bloat and certainly won't obsess about it! :) Have a good night! B. |
good me too...I need a good support group to help me stay positive. I am glad to see there are other ladies ready to support me. Single mom and can't use my 5 year old as my baby fat excuse anymore...I have 70 lbs to drop and would like to do so before summer of 20011 - here is to us and our journey!!!!

So what are you ladies doing to loose weight and get healthy?
Currently I use the Leslie Sansone DVD's alternated with the 30 day shred, still on level one in the mornings before work. Last week I was walking on the treadmill in the evenings but havent had the time this week. I usually work out at least 30 minutes a day seven days a week. Food wise-still a huge problem for me. I really havent found that thing that works for me yet. I am trying to control my calories, FitDay calculates my needs at around 1700. I try to eat 1500 but rarely hit that mark. After reading so many post on here and other sights alot of women my size drop their calories down to 1200. I am just not sure I can do that and not feel like I am starving. I really dont think I have my protein ratio good either. I carry more weight around my mid-section so I have thought about cutting out alot of carbs but I havent done it yet. The only thing I can say that I have down right now is my water intake. I usually drink 128oz per day. And that is thanks to Almeeker. She gave us the proper calculations and boy was I originally drinking way too little. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on how they are going to make it to their goal weight! |

Good morning ladies! (8:41 EST here) Hope you are all well...I am feeling better...1 day bug...
My fat problems as an adult started as baby weight too... but now my baby is a teenager so that excuse doesn't hold water for me anymore! ;) Okay so yesterday was super busy and we had to refill 2 prescriptions. By the time DH picked me up at work it was late and DT said: "Oh, BTW I have a test tomorrow!" AAARRRGGGHHH!!!:) So while waiting at the pharmacy, we went next door and ordered Chinese take out. Since the meds were expensive we decided to order the dinner for 3...BIG MISTAKE MOVE AWAY FROM THE COMBOS! Usually we order healthy plates or get the dinner for 2 and order an extra egg roll ANYWAY, the restaurant has cut back on the items and DT is eating us out of house and home sooooooooo.... Now we have more left over food...spent almost 2 hours on and off, online looking for calorie counts for chicken balls--not too obsessive:) and thought:" Hmmmmmmmmm maybe you should just avoid the situation in the 1st place!". So, I ate leftovers for breakfast, will try to balance out with salads and lean protein the rest of the day and lots of water! If I didn't do it this way, I may have ended up eating it as a snack... What does "workout" mean? Just kidding...I hurt my back at the beginning of the year after doing well on the treadmill so started back at 0. Slow and steady...right now my back is acting up, so no inclines for me at the moment. I do about 12 minutes at a time alternating between 2 and 3.5 m.p.h in intervals. I usually do it while watching crappy t.v. shows. I aim for 2-3 sessions every 2 days. Eventually I will get back to 30 minutes a day with incline and a tiny bit of running. Sorry for the EXTREMELY long post. Have a great day! B. |

I like to give you some support. I had 80lbs to go when I started living healthy in January. I have lost 70lbs since then and it was always a work in progress. I started out walking then added cardio after a month or so. Every couple months after that I added ten more minutes of exercise. I did the biggest loser videos and they really seem to help. I was not able to do all of the exercises at first but eventually worked up to be able to do them all. Good luck with your weight loss and never give up even if it takes you longer to obtain your goal.

Pretty well on track yesterday...good calories and tons of yard work so things went quite well. Need to work on the computer today so I am trying to keep food reasonable.
Have a good day all. |
Hello ladies :) I am new here, and I have about 70-80 pounds to lose. I have 3 children, ages 17, 9, and 2. I lost the weight and got back into my "skinny clothes" so quickly after my first two kids were born, but that was not the case with my third. I was steadily gaining weight the year before I got pregnant, and then of course the extra pregnancy weight. Now I find myself at 5'9" and 250 pounds. I've never had this much weight to lose, and I'm worried that I won't be able to do it, or that it will take so long that I will get frustrated and give up. I'm so glad that I found these boards to help keep me motivated. Good luck to all of you, sisters :)

Welcome aboard Spongey ;)
I have to laugh at your username because my son gave me a Spongebob card for Mother's Day years ago...it came with a button you had to wear that said "To the spongiest mom in the world"...not too flattering when you are overweight, but I wore it to make him happy. LOL Good luck you can do it!!! This time around, I started with a smaller and I hope more attainable goal...then I will go from there! |
OMG... Spongiest Mom in the World... too funny!! The things we do for our kids!!!! :) All three of my kids (even the 17-year-old) LOVE Spongebob and it's constantly on the TV in our house, and I swear I even hear it in my sleep... hence the username. LOL
Thank you for your words of encouragment. You're right about setting smaller goals, because I just can't wrap my head around the amount of weight I need to lose, long term :( |
I'm aiming for 140 eventually but would be thrilled to get down to 180...can't seem to break 190 when I do occasionally drop...
Spongebob is popular here too...I guess there are worse things...at least he makes adults laugh too :) I probably won't be around tomorrow...long work day. Good night! |
Anyone home? Popped in on a work break...later :)

I want to lose 50 or 60 pounds. I have not been consistent over this past year, so that is something I am working on. For exercise I like to walk, walk my dog, do my favorite Wii programs (Cardio boxing, Walk it Off, and Outdoor Adventure) and ride my bike. I am working on building up to running a mile, but haven't been out on the trail for a few days since we're getting some snow. I am thinking of doing the hcG diet. My niece and sister in laws did it recently and they have nothing but great things to say about it.
|
I answered your note on the other homeopathic hcg board. I found a clinic that sells them in Toronto but you have to be a patient and it is too far for me to travel every week.
I did find a health food store that will be eventually carry them so I am waiting. I have had success with homeopathy for other things so maybe it would work well for me too. Keep us posted...I like the fact that you don't have to do it indefinitely...I just want a jump start to lose some weight and then maintain eating healthfully. |

Sounds like a good plan.
I joined FD a week ago tomorrow and lost 1.6 lbs...s-l-o-w :) I realize that it is considered acceptable since 2 lbs "should" be the maximum but I have tried soooo many times I want some real results... It is funny because I would have scoffed at the idea a year ago... |
So I started a kidney flush today...that was dumb since I have to go every 5 minutes LOL.
Got lots of rest yesterday feeling more fit and up...I guess I needed that downtime. Have a good day ladies! B. |
Morning all hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Have a good weekend!

HI LADIES -- I know it may seem like it's NOT a fit, but the 100+ lbs group may be where you want to land. These fitday forums aren't "fast moving" if they get too specific. But the 100+ ladies are pretty active and welcome those of us in the 50-100 lb loss group as well (I need to lose about 60-70 myself, but they welcomed me).
Just a thought -- check it out. The current thread is no stopping us in NOvember. I personally would like to see that thread get MORE members so that we can be active in support -- especially during really tough times like weekends and holidays. It's weird when you're going "helllloooooo out there???" because a thread isn't that active during those times. ANyway -- just a thought if your 70+ group doesn't continue to grow??? Take care, Angela |
Thanks Angela, I will check it out.

I did it before... I can do it again!
Hi Everyone!
My name is Melissa and I have been a member of this site, in what it seems like forever. I lost 70lbs. using this site, exercising, and eating right. Unfortunately, my ego got the best of me and I started eating whatever I wanted. Almost two years later, I have put back on the 70lbs, as well as 5 more additional pounds. Here I am starting my lifestyle change once again. I wanted to procrastinate it and start it after the holidays, but if I don't start now, I never will. I started out the morning not eating right, and then I decided that I could do this! I worked out for a good 40 minutes... I got pooped doing a workout dance video.. my goal was 50 minutes. I wore out easily. I remember when that was an easy work out for me. Another reason I need to lose weight is because I have so many aches and pains now, more than many of my clients I work with (geriatric). I work with the elderly. I am in my 20s. 26 in fact! I have heal spurs, back pains, kneck pains, etc. I will be pinned an RN in 6 months and I'd like to be a good role model for my future patients. In a better note, I am getting married 5-7-11. My dress is too tight! It fit 3 months ago. My goal would be to get it pulled in. My first ultimate goal is to first fit into it. I am so glad I found this site. I really never visited the forums of this site. Honestly thought it was a pay service. I went to myfitness pal and wondered why fitday didnt have any boards, but then I looked into it and decided I'm sticking with fitday and checking into these forums. I wish all you guys goodluck! I'm hoping to find the support and advice I need this time around. It is very tough though, but I can do it. I did it before and I just need to stay motivated. |

Welcome Melissa!!!
Congrats on the upcoming wedding! Good for you for wanting to do this now for you. I have set a 37.7 lb goal for March 31st and will go from there (77.7 lbs total). I have often lost over the last 15 years but the lowest was 180 but I usually only go down to about 190 and either give up, get tired or plateau... I honestly didn't diet this time around and lost more than 5 lbs in 1½ weeks just by documenting my food. I did however eat more if I felt I didn't have enough calories and tried to alternate the calorie amounts from day to day... I had some fries, chocolate just to see what would happen and I had cravings...TOM :) I couldn't believe it! I am thinking of starting the Curves carbohydrate-sensitive plan (from a book I've had from when I used to do the Curves workout), just as soon as I have the appropriate groceries this week. Good luck with everything! |
Hey yall!
I guess Im a bit more than 70's but what the heck! Just wanted to give a shout out ans say HERE I AM and I'm HERE for a WHILE! |
I have 60 lbs to lose by the June!
Hi ladies,
I have 60 lbs to lose by June. My 5th wedding anniversary! I had a baby 1 year ago and wasn't able to shed a single lb. Very depressing :( But, i really need to do this. Would be great to have a support group here. O. |
Hi everyone! I was diagnosed with pcos about 2 years ago and gained over 60 pounds in 2 months because of the hormonal changes. I have about 100 pounds to lose to get back to my ideal weight. I have started trying to lose this weight a million times but have ended up getting discouraged because my body doesn`t do anything the same as it used to so any expectations I have, I end up having to throw them out the window. I have finally made the decision to lose as much as I can and try every day to stop the negative talk I do to myself every time I`m disappointed in the way my body is reacting to things. Not easy. Would appreciate the help and support of anyone who is in the same boat...with or without a medical condition. Thanks ladies!

My knees are starting to hurt - any ideas to reverse this or exercise that won't agravate them Anyone using Biggest Loser exercise tapes - Are they good? I do use two of the Biggest Loser videos, Power Sculpt and Cardio Max. I really like them. I havent been using them that long but I am on level two on both. I think I am going to move up to level three on the Power Sculpt this week. They love lunges though! Which I think probably aggrevate my knees more. I am hoping that the more weight I get off it will lessen the pain. Glad to have you on FitDay. It is a great site. I dont know how much you have to loose but the 100 lb thread is great and pretty active. There are alot of veterans on there and not everone had 100 lbs to loose. Also the 7 day motivational thread is awesome. You should check them out! |
Hi everyone! I started out at 205 lbs with a goal weight of 138 lbs.
I'm now down to 192, which feels amazing. I've just been eating better, making much healthier choices. I don't villainize any foods, just try to make the healthy ones outweigh the bad ones. So now I have 54 more pounds to lose and I am thrilled. The super awesome news today: I finally fit into a pair of size 16 jeans. My old jeans were size 20 and falling off of me. I am so excited today. I wish all of you well on your journey, too! |
