Hi pottersirus,
I am a stress eater too. There are a few things that work for me but none of them always. Have to keep trying new things. Grab a book and a cup of hot tea if you have time and distract yourself. Spend a few minutes meditating. Turn on some music and shake your booty. Go for a walk. Spend a few minutes visualizing what you would like to do if you were more fit and remind yourself you cant get there if you keep giving up your new healthy lifestyle ever time there is stress. I suspect all overweight people have to figure out whats eating them before they can figure out why they are overeating.

The great thing is you ate some fruit and walked four miles today! Remember to give yourself credit for every positive healthy thing you do each day. I think feeling good about yourself is half the battle.

I have been super busy and will sit down and catch up on posts tomorrow evening. It has really helped me that you all are sharing your efforts this week. My scale says I'm down at least 3 pounds and we still have a few days to go before official weighin.
Have a great day everyone!

Made my goals pretty well, but it was another night spent mostly in front of the tv with DH. Finally received my Jillian Michaels workout videos in the mail yesterday, so I'll let you know how that goes.
Weigh in was pretty good this morning. This motivational help is really a lifeline to me. Thanks everyone.

Yesterday's goals:
Calories at 1200 - 1650 dinner out get's me
96 oz. water - made it!
35 minutes weight lifting - made it!
Visualize my "healthy" self as often as possible - not as much as I should have

Today's goals:
Calories at 1200
96 oz. water
4 miles on treadmill
Visualize my "healthy" self as often as possible

I ran outside and I did 5 miles!!! Yay! Haven't done that in a few years. I did a marathon 3 years ago and after running today, I have no idea how I ever pulled that off! I typically run farther outside but faster on my treadmill.

I'm almost done with my gallon and I ate 1,226 calories. I'm going to go brush my teeth now. Hope everyone had a great day today!!! Stay strong!
Commit-When I clicked the link in your post it took me to my own food log? Has anyone else checked it?

Well I made 2 out of 3 of my goals.

Stay under 1700 calories-YES
Drink 100 oz of water-YES
Excercise 45 minutes-30 minutes

What day is everyone going to weigh in and post?

Almeeker-Those nachos sounded awesome. I am a huge fan of the mexican pizza from Taco Bell. I am going to try your version this weekend!

I think several people started later so I think its whatever day is the end of your week. This weekend I'll post some more and see if we want to repeat a week or go to a month. I once was in a thread where everyone posted to the 'monthly challenge' before the month started, and then each day they editted their original post, so that by the end of the month you could click on someones original post and see all their days at a glance, or daily if you were tracking their progress with friendly replies. It had a moderator, that knew how to link everyone into the first post of the thread so you just had to click on your (or someone elses) linked name on the first post and you'd go to their first post, but I cant figure out how to do that. If anyone else knows how, maybe they could share the info with me or set it up that way. The other option is just to keep this weekly with our daily updates in our posts.. seems to work okay .. I sometimes miss a post or lose track, but usually can catch up the next day. Any ideas?

I'm up for anything! It all sounds great Susan!

Good day today. I love that I'm finally in the zone and doing this the right way! Thanks for making me so motivated everyone. I love this accountability.
I get excited to report every night.

I ran my 5 miles. My time was a little slower than yesterday by less than a minute. Bummer. But I did get new running shoes today! Yay! So maybe that will help my time tomorrow.

I'm under my calories. I'm at 1,110. Not on purpose though, I know I need to stay close to 1200 at least. Maybe I can squeeze something small in or just call it good!

And just finishing up my gallon. Goodnight everyone and good luck!

woohoo on run five miles. i just got home from a four mile walk and it takes me at least 75 minutes. I cant run, I'm too big still and my knees will blow out.. they ach even when I just walk. BUT I think someday I will run again!
Congrats for getting in your zone!

Its cold here. By the time I get home from my walk the sun has dropped below the trees and dusk has set in. The creek had a layer of ice on it today. I am going to have to think of some indoor exercise this weekend.. maybe treadmill and some aerobics tape.

Have a great night everyone!

Default Good Morning!

Good morning Committ, Gamegal, Almeeker, Mambogirl, Seminewbie, Darlean, Pottersirus, Eltaco, Weighlossboo, Gmantych and Hunny24 Hope I caught everyone that has posted to the thread (took some scrolling).

Weekends are always hard for me. That is why I original made my weighin on Sunday, thinking after I weighin tomorrow I can eat off program and have a week to undo the damage, but tomorrow I'm going to try to stick to the program after weighin. I ate a lot of carbs and salty food yesterday. So the scale is up; hopefully it will be back down for my weighin tomorrow, but I know the important thing is to stick with the calorie limitation and eat nutritionally. No matter how slow it may seem, the weight HAS to come off if you stick to the plan!

Hope everyone's week is going well. Reading through the posts we have all accomplished a lot this week. Congrats to us

Susan

Default Stick with it

susanbfit:
Don't worry about one night of carbs and salty food. Just remember today to drink your water, water, water. That will help with the effects of the salt. Stay motivated and put those carbs to good use. It's an ongoing process, so maybe a little more housework or yardwork or a few more minutes to your walk. It is the weekend after all, so maybe even put on some fun music and dance around a while. Stay upbeat!
