Count me in :-) Terrible time to diet, but I am determined to drop at least 10. Menopause plays havoc with the body, and even tho I exercise nearly every day I seem to only maintain my weight, not lose it.
Current weight 157
Goal 147
My dream? 140
I think I'm going to need lots of support in the upcoming months!

Well you've got the support here! As I need it too! I got on the scale this morning and YIKES I gained!! Thank goodness I wiegh in on Friday's officially and I still have time to work it off! It's my babies 1st birthday tomorrow, which means cake... I don't have kids, I have 3 dogs, but we still celebrate like they are my children, because in reality... They are! :-) So maybe tomorrow for his birthday he will get a nice long walk with his two brothers. That should counteract the cake..

Now let me get this straight, you celebrate dog birthdays with cake? Do the dogs actually eat the cake, or is that part just for the humans? Maybe you could celebrate with some nice juicy steak, liver or a new raw hide bone and skip the cake, I'm sure the dogs would be just as happy with that. Or maybe instead of a food based celebration you can get the dog a gift like a new Frisbee or a can of tennis balls or maybe a new leash? As bad as cake is for you, it's actually worse for the dog, especially if it's chocolate. I'm all in favor of celebrating dog birthdays, don't get me wrong. It's just that we do a lot of talking about changing our perspective on food in this forum, and this might be an area you could easily address.

Red face

That’s a good one GameGal

Sorry about the confusion but i posted the wrong amount when i started last week...i misplaced my scale sometime ago (i didnt mind) and used my sister's own sometimes. I weighed my self about 3 weeks ago and i thought i saw 290 and i was so shocked i came off and just got depressed. I weighed myself yesterday and realise i was wrong and it was really 272..i know it’s a lot to lose but i feel a tiny bit better.
I am really hoping to meet u guys at least half way (15 pounds) by christmas...so all the best to everyone and congrats for losing so much already!

Default No loss in 2 weeks....

I haven't lost any weight in two weeks.... But I haven't been killing myself like I had been....

Still hoping I can atleast get into the 150's, by Christmas - I am getting serious again on Monday.... With my only free day being Thanksgiving - this really is a horrible time of year to decide to change your lifestyle...

LOL, maybe it's a matter of perspective on weather or not this is a horrible time of year to change your lifestyle. Think about it, if you could pick any time of the year to change your lifestyle and make the biggest difference in your life overall, this is definitely the time of year to do it. Just think of all the calories and weight gain you're avoiding... Okay, it's not that convincing of an argument, but I tried. I figure anything less than a gain through November and December is a win.

I understand your statement 100% We do get the dogs cake, white cake and they get a little sliver of it. I didn't eat any actually. Plus all three of them get presents!! We really spoil them. I understand the changing the way you think about food, I really do. But birthday's and birthday cake go hand in hand for me and that will not change.
