Is it too late for me to join the Christmas 30? I so don't want another holiday season where I'm struggling into my clothing and eating enough at holiday parties that I have constant low-grade stomach distress...my overall goal is basically 30lbs, but getting there a month early would be the best Christmas present I could get!

Starting Weight (21 Sept 2010): 150.5
Current Weight (25 Sept 2010): 152.5
Goal Weight (1 Feb 2011): 123
Christmas Goal!: 123

Hi everyone you are all doing great. My weight was 167.5 last week-lost 2.5lbs on Tuesday.
I dont know how to put the list on my message to update it. I may sound stupid but im useless on computers. I should be able to do it once i know how but i wouldnt count on it!

Tracy - welcome to the group!

Go to the top of this page.. (to the darker blue ribbon) and click on 'User CP'.

Then look on the left for something like edit signature. Type in what you want and save it. When it needs to change, just go back and edit it. It sounds hard but it isnt.

OMG did I have cravings last night! I don't know if I was just bored, or if I didn't eat enough calories yesterday, or if 8 days without junk just caught up to me! I did not cave though! I drank a cup of green tea instead. I had to remind myself of what my ultimate goal is and eating the junk is not going to get me there. Also, I am so horrible if I cave even a little because it always leads to feelings of failure which then lead to an all out binge, which then becomes self loathing and depression. I am not one of these people who can have a cheat here and there and then pick right back up. I wish I was! I have been avoiding going out with friends and visiting family because I know the temptations are just too great!

What motivates you to reach your goals?

Right now I have two major motivators. 1.) My husband is currently overseas. He is scheduled to come home the end of January and I want nothing more than to surprise him with a slimmer version of myself! 2.) We have been struggling to have a baby for the past three years. We underwent several months of fertility treatments with no success. After many tests and analysis they can't find any reason for our struggle. It was so emotionally and financially draining to us that we stopped trying all together. We are ready to try again when my husband gets home, so I want to be in the best health possible before starting IVF in the hopes that it will improve our chances of it being successful. Research shows that women who have a normal range BMI respond better to treatments. I hope and pray that is the case for us!

Tracy, for that list, yes you copy it, then paste in your new post, and put in the correct numbers for you and save it. Then everyone keeps track of their own and you always copy and paste the last one posted in the thread.. No need to be sorry for anything.... not everyone is a computer wiz... and people here dont mind explaining if they can. :D

Hello Ladies

If anyone is looking for a personal trainer I think my 4 year old fully qualifies. I had explained to him the other day how we were going to be eating better foods because mommy and him were going to make our bodies healthier ( don't get me wrong he is not over weight he is probably underweight he is rail thin but I thought it was a good idea to explain to him why our eating habits were changing) and how were were going to work out to build big muscles and he was really excited. He works out with me most days. Well tonight we had company for dinner so we had a little bit more elaborate dinner than usual and I had made cornbread. Not bad as far as breads go but still bad enough. I had told myself I was going to have only one piece but ended up eating 2 they were so good. So after our company leaves he says to me " I think because you had 2 pieces of cornbread you should do 2 workouts, lets do another one now" and got out the weights and excercise ball and everything. So needless to say I have done 2 complete 40 minute work outs today and totally don't feel bad about that 2nd piece of cornbread at all because I know I worked it off!!

Xarrin ~ LOL! What a great little trainer you have right there! Only 4 yrs. old and he's already keeping mom on her toes! Absolutely wonderful to make him a part of a healthy lifestyle...you will lose weight and he will learn how to eat healthy and keep fit! Wow, Jillian Michaels has some tough competition! :)

I read the original post on the 20th which was my first day on the site. I have come back a couple of times but had not posted. The idea that I could REALLY lose 30 lbs by the end of the year has been taunting me. I have had a devil and angel conversation between you can do and you can't do it. Today I decided to say...step down nay-sayer!! I am in. :) Tomorrow is my weigh in day so I will post my loss then, but here are my stats:

F42yo - overweight 16 years
Starting wt: 181 (9/20/10)
Goal wt: 130

I don't think there is a specific weigh-in day, but the post started on a Friday so that's what I go with. Anyway, go to the most recent list, hit the "quote" button on the right hand bottom corner, then edit it to add your starting weight and your next weigh-in, then your total change in parenthesis.

The next time I'm tempted to cheat I'm going to try and picture a mini fat me on one shoulder and a mini skinny me on the other and let them argue it out. You can do this, we're all sure of it, all that remains is to convince you. Come with us, what have you got to lose? Okay, besides the weight. Heck even if you only drop 10, 15, 20 by Christmas, that's much much better than packing on 10-15 like I did last year.

Hello Lovely ladies! I was away for the weekend and managed to eat (fairly) healthy for dining out most of the time. One half of a dessert consumed on the weekend - did a workout in the pool and did lots of mall walking.

We shopped in my girlfriend's skinny chick stores and I got some terrific motivation - picked up a few new smaller things and was drooling over some little suits that were cute beyond belief.

Hope everyone is well and had a successful week and weekend. Way to go on the losses!:) I'm happy to report I'm a loser this week :p

I start working out and watching what I eat.

I lose a few pounds, then stop.

I want to continue losing until I reach my goal and maintain my weight.

Trying something new
 
I am a yoyo dieter - that's my confession. I lose and gain the same 30 pounds every 2 years or so.

I have found a free website with a 60 day program addressing spirituality, overeating and filling your life with good things instead of good food. It seems to deal with underlying problems, not dieting or body size.

I have committed to doing that program daily for 60 days, then their followup.

I'm not trying to preach to anyone, just hoping and praying that I can leave bad habits behind me.

Hello Ladies

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? Thought I would let you all know that I am having a great day. It is one of those days where it feels like everything is falling into place. Took measurements today and was down in all areas. Feel healthy and am happy when I look in the mirror. Thought I would make a note of this so when I have a bad day I can look back and see that they are not all like that!!

Hi everyone well ive been weighed today and no change. I just started my monthly cycle this morning and im hoping this is the reason. Im going to do my best to do really well this week and hopefully once aunt flo has gone that will help give me a good loss next tuesday!!
Its not a loss but im even more pleased its not a gain!!
I discovered vegetarian sausages this week and i enjoyed them with some mixed pulses. Also found out i like the taste of Marmite-love it or hate it and i like it with rice cakes.
Is there any unusual foods that people have tried lately and enjoyed the taste or something people maybe thought they wouldnt like but did??
I also found out i love guacamole and houmous
