That's so sweet of you to say! Thanks so much for that. Do you suppose that you could explain to my children that mommy isn't a complete ninnyhammer? Boy they only listen to me when I've given up being nice about it, and have resorted to screaming my head off.
What I did with my neices and nephews ( I chose not to have children lol) is got to the place where all I had to do was clear my throat and they jumped. I dislike raising my voice and I am not really into hitting/spanking. (Although I do see the benefit of it on toddlers behind to teach them to listen and not to run into the street kind of things) ... but if it helps... Pam said... Mommy is NOT a ninnyhammer! And I will give you kids to the count of 3 before I clear my throat!:D

LOL, thanks!!! Actually, my kids are great, we just had a long day in the hot sun and they were momentarily driving me crazy. I'm not into spanking/hitting either, truth be told it doesn't work very well on my kids. I've only ever used it as a last resort when nothing else corrected a behavior.

Weekly Weigh In

So I weighed in for my first week.... I lost 8 pounds! :) I know that's fine for a first week, but right now I am trying to really remind myself of that because 8 pounds feels and looks like nothing to me right now!

However, I think I am going to have to buy a digital scale at some point, because trying to read the dial to differentiate between one pound is going to be hard, and I want to see EVERY single pound drop, LOL.

Oh Chunkydunk, how awesome are you? WOW that is amazing!!!! Very proud here, getting a little choked up, sniff sniff. I know it's hard to picture 8 pounds, but your average house cat weighs about 8 pounds. Or go to the store and pick up a couple of 4 pound bags of sugar (don't buy them, just pick one up in each hand). Then do a little happy dance, and put them back on the shelf. Okay, other shoppers might think you're nuts, but having that visual is sooo worth it... I would highly recommend a good scale. I have a Weight Watchers scale that I love, but there are plenty of good digital scales out there. I actually do my official weigh-ins on the Wii Fit Plus, but only because it has a graph and records the weight and won't let me conveniently lie to myself about it.

Thanks. It IS hard to imagine... because obviously I don't look any different...

I am actually thinking about getting a Wii later this year, because i have been wanting to get the Wii fit/fit plus (whatever its called LOL). So maybe I will hold off on buying a scale. That would also make it so that I could only weight myself when I was going to exercise, LOL. (well unless I really wanted to go in and go through everything just to weigh in!)

I'm sure there is a weight limit on that thing, so I guess I need to get down to whatever it is before I can actually use it. I think my weigh-in will be messed up when I switch scales as well, because I think the doctors scale said 355 when mine said 363. For consistency, for now, I am just going by mine, but I will have to work that out if I ever switch scales.

Woohoo!!! ChunkyDunk! 8 pounds is awesome! Thats half a bowling ball! Go to the meat counter and find some hams or roasts that are 4 lbs each and look how much that is!

I will caution you however, since this was your 1st week, that it may or may not continue for the next couple weeks but it wont always be that much a week, and thats a good thing. The slower it comes off, the longer it will stay off! :)

Wow, well done! That's great for your first week. Keep going though, that's a great foundation to work from!

Had a 2.5lb loss this week. Pleased with that. :) Also managed my first 20 minutes on the elliptical/cross trainer, and my heart rate isn't going over 140bpm during work outs now. (Used to reach 160+) I feel healthier already!

Woot Woot, thats awesome! I came here to check in and see if you had posted, LOL. :) WTG!

WTG weightlossboo!! That's awesome about the eliptical trainer! I havent gotten to that point yet ( I have heart issues ) but I will eventually work up to it. When I 1st started exercising, I couldnt walk a treadmill more than 3 minutes, and now I am past 30 mins ( and thats only been in about 2 months.

I couldnt swim very long at all and now I spend 2 hours 3 times a week swimming and aquasizing. It isnt all about watching the scale, its little improvements like yours and mine that help encourage us along the way!

Keep up the good work!

Ugh, why does it have to be that time of the month! All I want to do is eat sugar!
