Red face Back at it again

Hi, my name is Jen. I am new here and just looking for someone to chat with while I start up with my healthy eating plan again. I am at 250 again... I lost a lot of weight about a year ago, and then I lost my job (still looking to find that again) and gained some back. I have decided that I don't have much else going on right now, might as well work on me.

I am pretty good at logging my foods in, I love the Fitday food log! It helps me to realize when I am eating the wrong things. I just have a lot of trouble with cravings. It's due to boredom I think. I just have a hard time staying with it when I have a lot of time on my hands, and I do.

Anyway, hope I can join in your conversations.

Horray!

Hi Jen...and welcome. It sounds like you've had a pretty touch time of it recently so a big well done for actually wanting to put the effort in and make things better for yourself. I was unemployed for quite a while a few years back so I know how hard it gets to get motivated to do anything, so you've done one of the hardest parts already. What sort of exercise are you into? Do you have any other commitments - eg kids, family, clubs etc...which you have to work around..if not, you have a blank canvas from which to work from. Do you have any interests and hobbies which you could link into your new healthy lifestyle - eg. gardening, hiking, cooking etc... You never know, if you take up one of these seriously it could be a gateway back into the world of work also!

I'll stop going on now.....

Having people to chat to however frequently or infrequently who have either gone through or are going through what you are is a great help I've found. And it's amazing how reading other people's stories on here has helped me stay motivated and postitive, and given me lots of exercise and nutrition tips.

Hang in there and well done again for taking the first step...

Have you considered volunteerism? It's a great way to stay busy and I think after a long bout of unemployment it could seriously boost your resume. Sorry to hear about the job, the economy is really crappy right now.
