I'm like this too! I think "Oh, I haven't had THAT many calories today!" And then I log all my food, and I'm wayyyy over my "limit."
The one thing that keeps me in check is logging things AS I EAT THEM. Then I know where I'm at for the day, and how many more calories I can "afford" to eat. If I log them at the end of the day, I always have a terrible surprise waiting for me.
I try to give myself a calorie allowance, and I can only spend that many calories a day on food!

Welcome to my world. I eat far too much too (especially this holiday weekend) and I got very lazy with my food diary. I've found that beating myself up over it won't fix it. The only thing that's going to help is re-committing to my lifestyle & fitness goals TODAY.
I've not really hit a plateau as much as I'm practising for when I get to my "maintainance level". A plateau is out of my control...this is ALL me. So...time to move on and get it back together.
Marjo: You can do this..we're all here to support you.
almeeker: As long as you truly enjoyed it...a coulple extra walks this week'll fix it right up.
jenny: Aren't those surprises horrible...I like the idea of log as you go.

this food diary is a belssing, since i too, go way overboard if i don't log in my food. happend yesterday as well, did my breakfast and lunch, for dinner i thought i had so many calories remaining, and had dinner and a little snack, and was really shocked to see how over limit i had gone, once it was all logged in.
