How do I account for breastfeeding?
Hi Ladies - I had a beautiful baby girl 3 months ago and I am now in the process of trying to get my old body back. (Once you're done laughing, please continue reading....) I'm exclusively breastfeeding her until she's 6 months old, but I don't know how to account for this in my caloric needs. I've heard random comments like "Breastfeeding burns up to 500 calories a day" but I know this must vary quite a bit depending on how much milk you're actually producing and how big your body is, right? Does anyone know if there's a mathematical formula or something that can help me take into account my weight, how many ounces a day I produce, etc etc so I can account for something other than the arbitrary numbers I hear?
Thank you so much!! |
